      is HI guaranteed?

I've tried WILDing at least 30 times without success, and i've got sleep paralysis 75% of the time, and felt vibrations maybe twice. I've never seen hypagogic imagery. Does it happen to everyone?

not everyone gets HI frequently. i'd say about 60% of my WILDs involve no HI at all. i simply wait until "i pop out". the rest of the i experience HI.

it certainly isn't required to WILD..

But if no HI is experienced how do you know you're close at all? What do you mean by pop out...is there like a feeling you get or something?

well, when i say pop out i literally mean my 'dream body" pops out.

i've got sleep paralysis 75% of the time, and felt vibrations maybe twice[/b]
this sentence makes me think we might have different definitions of SP. for myself, the vibrations ARE the SP. sometimes when i wake up i feel vibrations/buzzing/tingling right away, sometimes only after lying there for half an hour.

the vibrations can be fairly weak, or limited to one area of my body. so, i fully relax and imagine waves of the vibrations intensifying and coursing through my entire body.

after awhile i am fully in sleep paralysis, and vibrating at a high rate. whereupon if i see HI i passively witness until it forms a dream scene with myself incorportated. if i do not see HI (the majority) i stay relaxed and avoid getting distracted by thoughts.

usually i first feel 'phantom limbs", such as a leg or arm 'floating' above where my actual physical limb is positioned. eventually my 'dream body' separates completely, usually like a cork coming to the surface of water when its been submerged beneath. i feel myself pop out of my body and to the side, and take the lucid from there....

sometimes when my dream body separates i find myself in another scene, even though there was no previous HI, though this is rare...

i am curious as to what you consider SP, when there are no vibrations/buzzing/tingling/shuddering/etc..

Well I guess when I say sleep paralysis, I mean the tingling feeling thats spreads until you feel it all over you. Rarely, that escalates into twitches or vibrations that are more severe.

I never really have HI. Never really extreme atleast. However, I never fully did a WILD... But I do think it's really person-dependent.
