LD on a platter, and still screwed it up

Yesterday morning, I had a dream that I was driving a boat down a neighborhood street to get home. It was dusk. The scenery was beautiful, and people were standing in their yards and walking down the streets, making illegible talking noises that were really trippy. I thought to myself that it all really seemed like a lucid dream. I dwelled very hard on that idea, but I was certain that I was not really dreaming and was instead just driving a boat down a street I had no memory of seeing before but lived on. I was really in awe of how much it seemed like a dream, but continued to believe for sure that I was in the waking world. I soon woke up. I felt like I had screwed up a golden opportunity to have a lucid dream. I can't believe I didn't take the writing on the wall more seriously. The next time I experience that, I am going to do my 99% faithful reality check-- flying. I will try to fly. If I can fly by my own power, I am definitely dreaming, and I almost always understand that when I fly. I am going to be better with my reality checks from now on. I don't want any more perfect opportunities getting lost.
      You are dreaming right now.

That is very annoing! It happens to me on occasion. I'll think, this is pretty wierd, maybe I'm dreaming. Then I'll just forget it and move on with the dream. That's the thing. While your dreaming your mind is basically telling you everything is normal so if you aren't 100% prepared to remember you're dreaming you'll just blow by the signs.

Don't get discouraged - at least there was some minimal form of lucidity waiting to emerge. That's more than some people can get.

Good idea to try your flying reality check next time.

Practice makes perfect. As long as practice RCs more often, you should be fine.
      Shine on, you crazy diamond!
