      Entering a Storyline or Book

Anyone ever tried it? I'd like to do it with either Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. I'd like to become "part" of the storyline, any tips anyone has would be awesome.

Also, I have the 4th Harry Potter movie on my iPod if that helps, because I guess I could watch it in bed or something...

I've had several Harry Potter dreams. Sometimes I'm just running around inside the castle, and I think one time I was Hermione. I haven't been lucid in any other them, unfortunately, but I didn't really try to dream about HP, either. I'll be in the middle of re-reading the books or listening to the audiobooks before bed, and I'd dream about it.

      Yup, I admit - I'm a Harry Potter nerd.

Lol, there's alot of HP nerds, they just don't want to admit it!

I've been watching a little bit of the fourth movie each night, and that's not doing anything. I suppose I should stop being so lazy and start reading the books again.

If you want to do it before bed, and don't want to break out the books and have the light on to read - I'd highly recommend the audiobooks. Jim Dale does a great job reading them (the American versions are the ones I have, but I also heard the British guy does a fabulous job, too). Actually, sometimes I miss things because I read so fast, so listening to the audiobooks lets me slow down and really enjoy the story.

Although I pretty know all the books by heart - I've read each of the books around 5-7 times, and listened to all the audiobooks twice. It's weird because I never get sick of HP.

Anyway, listening to the audiobook is easier than reading the book just before bed, and you can fall asleep while it's still going, so maybe it would be easier to enter an HP dream that way.

      He he he...

All my LD's are based on storylines of books, movies or games

Usually I just run around like a maniac and ruin it all though... Infact, 90% of my dreams must involve me at Hogwarts, or Traction London (From Mortal Engines) or Mac Anu (From the .hack series) killing random people, smashing up the scenery or... copulating!

Well, last night I was actually in bed watching the beginning of the move on my iPod, and I started to get really tired...so I turned the backlight off on my pod and fell asleep with the audio to the movie going. And it didn't work. Lol, all I got in my dreams where a few references to HP.

If you want a good fantasy story to experiment with in dreams, I highly reccomend The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. There are 12 books so far, and the story is still not done! There are strong allusions to dreaming in the series - in fact, there is a dream world, Tel'aron'rhiod, the unseen world. It offers a great entry point to that world. Check it out!

Instead of books, how bout you enter video games, like Halo? Or you could possibly feel the way (Ms.)Pac Man moves along the board. Or better yet, be Mario and feel yourself grow from eating mushrooms. Doesn't sound bad.
