I have not yet succeeded in inducing any LDs, at least not in 6 months or more. But I have noticed some shifts in my dreaming over the last week or so. I wonder if they reflect a normal pattern of moving towards lucid dreaming.

First, I have tracked the categories (awareness, form, etc.) of dreamsigns that appear in my dreams. They shifted from a long-term (years probably) dominance of context signs to a dominance of awareness signs, all in about a week. I have become increasingly aware of the strangeness of things in my dreams. This seems like a good step towards consciously doing reality checks while dreaming.

Second, I have, within the last week, begun waking up after what seems like each dream. I know many people work towards this, but I find it very annoying. It doesn't improve my recall, because I have long been able to recall numerous dreams each night. So it just makes me tired. Anyway... I wondered if many people find this happening as they become more conscious in their dreams.

Does anyone know of any particular sleep and dream patterns that emerge as a person moves towards lucidity?
