      Naps- almost! (possible LD?)

Alright, I know the nap topic has been played with before but i couldn't find it, sorry! Anyways, yesterday i was so stressed out because I had had a hard day at school so I went and took two advil to get rid of a headache and then I laid down and just shut my eyes.

I planned on just resting my eyes, not falling asleep. Well anyways, as i was sitting there, random thoughts kept on jumping into my head, it was like the normal thought process except funny thoughts and very accelerated. It felt like I was on a new subject every few seconds.

Then the doorbell rang and I had to get up, but after i answered it, I started thinking about what just happened. I could remember very little about what i was thinking about right before i fell asleep. Then I started wondering. I knew that this was the moment right beofre I would fall asleep, but I didn't know how to "Keep my head awake" while my body fell asleep. So today I've been thinking and I was wondering how to recognize this moment. I think it would have to be a form of WILD, especially for napping, because your REM is out of the way, but I've never had much luck with WILD, SP, HI, ect. It just doens't seem to work for me.

Anyone ever felt this? Was this a "could have been LD"? if I would have recognized what was happening at that moment, I'm not sure I could make my "body" stay asleep, i think my mind would've been too awake and would've ruined the whole thing. Anyone have any advice on how to help in my quest for an LD during a nap?

(Sorry for the long post, i didn't know this would be so confusing to write about)

This happens to me all the time when I am falling asleep.

I lie there thinking, but I have absolutly no control over my thoughts. Like watching a movie except it's very random and it jumps around alot.

I have always wanted to see where it would lead, if I could stay consious and let it progress, but as soon as I realize it's happening I "wake up".

EXACTLY! I don't know how to realize it without waking myself all the way up.

I have this same problem, I can't keep conscious without waking up completely... Like at times, I'll wake up at night, and if I don't go straight to sleep, like within about 5 seconds, I can't get back to sleep. Thats why I can never WILD or MILD, My mind just stays way too active and can't relax enough to put me asleep at all...
