      A little bit scared

I'm new at this and have been a little on the fence about it from the get-go. I've done my best to remember dreams and seem to be getting better at it, ive also been doing reality checks ever hour from the sound of my watch. Last night i was lieing in my bed and was very relaxed and closed my eyes and cleared my head. As i did so i breathed slower and slower and my body felt very heavy and numb, i also opened and closed my eyes very slowly as one would do when their very tired until my eyes stayed shut and i saw a white flash and felt as if i was moving very fast, at the same time i felt my eyes moving around swiftly against my eyelids and i got nervous and opened them as fast as i could and when i awoke (if i was ever asleep in the first place im not sure) i was sitting up in my bed sweating.

      Any suggestions?

      Hi! Welcome on board.!

Please don't worry or be concerned with anything. What you are experiencing is just a normal part of the process you go through every night as you fall asleep. Usually however, you surrender conciousness before things like this happen and so do not experience them.

Such experiences are normal for those of us that practice the WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) technique. My advice would be for you to try to recreate the experience. Perhaps you will be able to use WILD easily?

Thanks alot. I guess if i cant get hurt then i have nothing to worry about and will endure whatever happens next time. Until then i'll keep reading up on "WILD" and other related LD topics to further help me on my journey of reaching Lucidity.

Yes, your basically keeping your concscious mind alive while your body falls asleep which you will notice things which you have never been aware of before and you legitly feel yourself fall to sleep. Very interesting.

I think allot of people who are new to this start to get a bit nervous when they start noticing phases of the sleep cycle. Once you start to disect it and pay attention; you start to discover more about it. Most of the "public" does know things like Hypnogogic Imagery. They just dont pay attention as closely as Dream Views Lucid seekers.
