      Herbal Tea

I have some herbal tea that is supposed to put you to sleep.
It contains lemon balm, chamomile, passion flower, valerian root, and skullcap.
I have noticed that after I drink it I feel soft, heavy, and slightly euphoric so obviously it does something.
I only drink it rarely because I am worried that it might mess up my LDing and dreaming skills.

Do you think this tea would have much of an affect on dreaming?

Does anyone drink anything like this regularly?

all the time mate i find herbal tea really relaxing, its amazing!

I have noticed that after I drink it I feel soft, heavy, and slightly euphoric [/b]
I drink kava kava, that stuff is amazing, i totally relate to that feeling you mentioned

I also drink this thing called Dream Tea from a website called Star Child here in the uk but I don’t know what’s in it, its just leaves and stuff.

I put it into a flask for about 10 min then get a drainer and poor the tea into a cup, letting the leaves collect into the drainer,
then add honey, it tastes amazing, it makes my parents feel sick but i think its lovely.

Do you think this tea would have much of an affect on dreaming? [/b]
In relation to relaxing the body, instead of feeling so tense, i guess....

I’m not sure it will effect your dreaming in a negative way, unless you let it, its like eating
a bar of chocolate, have you watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

There used to be a sports drink here in the usa that had kava in it.

It isn't around anymore because of concerns about the effect of kava on the liver
even though the study that shows liver damage was when people where using kava
extracts. The extracts are made from leaves which are far more toxic than the root.

So unfortunately I haven't been able to try kava, but it's not like i'm looking very hard.

You can be get quite wasted on kava kava, but the tea you mentioned is probably a placebo.

The good thing about most herbal teas is that it can help you get to bed and have a good nights sleep.
And because a good seven to eight hours of good sleep is great for incubating LD's, the tea effects have usually worn of by then, but it sets you up for Lucid dreaming.

I made some tea with st johns wort once, that made me relax really nicely, it also is used to treat mild cases of depression.

I love herbal tea, regular tea has caffine and I can't drink it before bed

There seems to be evidence that both st john's wort and mint stimulates the pituitary and/or pineal glands - and in turn serotonin and melatonin levels
Correct me if Im stating it incorrectly

All of those herbs are useful in treatment of nervousness, anxiety, seizures, hysteria, etc (relaxing the nervous system), and combating insomnia... The alkaloids and flavonoids of passionfloria are also said to have a tranquilizing effect... so yeah that probably would make you feel soft & heavy (and tired) and be using in getting to sleep if you have trouble.

Since all of those work to relax the nervous system, if you're a light sleeper you'd probably get a deeper sleep than normal, but I'm not sure what effect a more relaxed nervous system would have on ability to LD. I don't know enough to answer that.

Let us know which brands are better than others, which ones work the best for lucidity etc.
      I will too.

      Hello all,
Yesterday I tried lemon balm tea, I drank about 2 litres of it. I recalled 3 dreams (usually I recall 1-2 dreams a night), I think they were a little bit more vivid but not as I expected. btw I went to the bathroom only once, but it helped me to recall better. I'll keep trying it for a few days more, to see how it goes.

i heard about an old sadhu shiva priest, who never ate
      just drank chai tea
he could causually stroll into hot springs that even the hardest of people wouldn't dare put their little toe in, he could inhale several grams of charas in one breath and once smoked a lump of wood just to impress some one.

      hope this helps

Is the activity purely directly proportional to mint odor or have you noted brands that werent as odorous but still worked just as well?

Sadhus can also walk on fire, peel the skin off their arms, and use their penis to lift small boulders or pull a Bus! It has to do more with training than their milk-tea
