      Recurring Dreams about LDing

Hi all, for the past few nights I have been dreaming about LDs but I din't become lucid. I even had a 'fake' LD with that LE guy ( Edmund Ventura) from the movie Vanilla Sky in my bedroom. I started to have them when I 'stopped' trying to have LDs and at the same time I hit on the idea of having a small amount of redbull <100ml right before bed for dreamrecall. So could it be the redbull or just the placebo effect?

Sometimes when you try too hard to do something, it can be counterproductive. Maybe you just needed a break.

Well, I hope this goes on and hopefully I will really recognize that I'm dreaming.

Wow. Having a non-lucid dream about having a lucid dream.
That blows my mind. That's awesome.
      Interesting concept.

      dream incubation

If you immerse yourself in any topic, you will have dreams related to it.

I've had dreams about going to lucid dreaming seminars.

I've had dreams about answering questions about lucid dreaming.

Similarly if I spend a lot of time on DV I will dream about it.

Challenge is to focus attention on things that will make me lucid. So I try to read about when people realize they are dreaming. Read about lucid dreams. Read about things to do when lucid.

I think its a mistake to get frustrated or mad at yourself about dreaming about lucidity. Think of it as another step closer.

Yeah, it is a very good improvement from nothing to LD related dreams. Last night I reduced the redbull intake to 85ml, din't work at all, no dream recall. So I will have to stick to 100ml which does make it a little difficult to fall asleep but it's a small price to pay I guess. I liked the dream I had with the LE guy from the movie, he was telling me something but I can't remember what it was.

That's so true. I was playing a lucid audio induction file and in the dream I was giving a class to students about lucid dreaming and they were all listening to the file with headphones laying their heads on their desk. I thought that was too funny!

Funny. I had a dream a few months ago where I asked a group of friends for a show of hands if they thought we were in a dream. They all raised their hands except me. I was convinced we weren't in a dream.. '

Hi guys, just a little update on my progress. So far since my last post, the dreams have stopped unfortunately. I tried the same amount of redbull 100ml and no dream recall plus I find that the caffiene isn't so good for me. I have lost some sleep here and there and as a result had headaches. Last night I went to bed without the redbull and had some dream recall in my second dream.

Hello all, I've almost recovered from that nasty flu I had for the past few days, maybe it was caused by redbull,LOL. Anyway since my last post my dream recall sucked. Then out of desperation last night took the redbull again at 100ml and had some dream recall. I remember seeing that LE guy again from the movie and something about LDs, I will definetly use him as my dream sign. Tonight I will increase the redbull to 125ml and see how it goes.

Are you sure you are not putting a little too much emphasis and hope on your redbull?
How do you wake up in the morning?
Give yourself time, right after you wake up, to think about what you just dreamed about.
Redbull may help, but you're not saying anything about what ELSE you are doing to help the matter.

Hi Sloth, I have been in a dry spell for dream recall lately, it does appear that the redbull is doing something but is sporadic. I think U are right that it could be the placebo effect rather than it actually working for me if not it would have worked everytime.

I was using MILD imagery. I just keep pumping my mind full of images about LDs from the movies, forums and myself becoming lucid along with music that had to do with the movie. I have trouble focusing on just one idea of intent, it has to be a spectrum of thought or images that has to do with that intent. This is also the same way I 'insert' my dreamsigns at will but so far only 1 selected dreamsign have succesfully broken into the dream world on a constant basis. I have difficulty recognizing it because it is also what I do during the day as part of my job.

Hmm, not really. I kept having this kind of dreams during my first days, when I started to visit LD forums. It's a natural proces to dream about what is on your mind during the day. Only after taking a break a was able to have my first LD's purely by chance.

I think you are on the right way. You are now familiar with the concept of lucid dreaming, so sooner or later, a moment will come, when you will naturally start asking yourself in you dreams: "Hmm, isn't this a dream ?" Just stay relaxed while falling asleep and try to think about LDing in a MILD fashion.

but anyway, it is most annoying when it happens and it's a good indication that maybe you are focussing too hard on it, since it's actively appearing in dreams.
So put your mind on some other things as well now and then.

Hi guys, I think so too that success is near. Now I left with 2 things to settle.......Dream recall and recognizing my dreamsigns. For the dream recall, i started to use vitamin B complex, helped a little at 30mg and it has also Choline at 25mg.
