First lucid in a long time! (also a tip for anyone with problems opening their eyes)

LUCID! After over a year of no lucid dreams, or trying to lucid dream - Also after two weeks of starting up again.

I went to a music festival yesterday so I've got the day off work today. I took drugs yesterday so I'm not sure if this helped in any way..
This dream happened at about 9-10am.

I was already dreaming, then the dream suddenly ended. I'm in my bed, on the left side - Usually on the right side though. I'm pushing myself up a little (I'm on my stomach) and trying to open my eyes. My eyelids are extremely heavy.
I did a reality check to make sure I was dreaming by blocking my nose and inhaling and it worked, and I felt a wave of energy roll down my body.
I say to myself things like, "Clarity now!" "Control now!" "I'm in complete control!" "I'm in complete control on my body!", but none of them were making it easier.
Then I stopped for a second and calmly said to myself 5 times, "I have complete control over my eyelids". Voila! I could see!

Hope this helps anyone with this problem too!

I've learned (not so much from experience until now) that affirmations, when said correctly and clearly are FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!111

      Cheers.

Congrats! It's a good feeling to finally have a lucid after such a long time, I know.

Affirmations are definitely helpful, though I usually just say them in my head. Even in the dream, I sometimes feel silly when saying them out loud. I don't know, just me I guess.
Success comes to those who are not afraid of failing.

I can't remember if I was talking or thinking the affirmations.

      Was a little hazy.

My second lucid! This one was induced using Lucid weaver on my phone - http://www.lucidweaver.com/ - It's freeware now BTW!!!

I have the RC alarm going off all day during the week, about every half hour. I try to program my brain to recognize this and RC STRAIGHT AWAY as soon as I hear it.

And some nights I'll put on the lucidity training to go off every 45 minutes.

      Anyway..

      "LUCID!

*My three beep alarm que from my phone went off. It nearly woke me up but I was still slightly in sleep.*
I pinched my nose and inhaled. I could breathe, I was dreaming! A wave of energy rolled down my body and I was in. I was in bed and my left arm was paralyzed. I tried all sorts of affirmations to get control. I knew my missus was next to me. I was scared of what visualisation I would see. She was acting like a beast trying to bite me and rip me apart but I held her off with my other hand.
This lucid was not vivid at all. I finally broke free with more affirmations, and I was back on the cruise on the balcony.
I was saying all sorts of affirmations like, "Clarity now! Lucidity now! I have complete control over all parts of my body!" But I just couldn't get a clear picture.
I was now flying to through Sydney harbour heading toward the city flying under the bridge. I tried to land on the Opera house, but then the dream started to fade..

Another part through the night I was almost awake (no visual everything was black), but I knew I was asleep, but didn't think or say it yet. I waited about 5-10 seconds just to make sure my body wasn't awake, and I pinched my nose again to make sure. I was dreaming! A wave of energy rolls over me.
This time I am trying to visualise and create the scene. It's difficult though. I can't remember much of this dream."

I don't have the problem of the dream not lasting very long like I did a couple of years ago. But just having visuals seems a bit difficult sometimes.
