      WILD, almost succes?

Last night, I think I almost accomplished a WILD.

I went to bed at 11, and slept until 5, I got up and went to close my door. Since I really felt awake already, I thought it would be counterproductive to stay up longer (this is always the case for me, also with WBTB).

I lie down on my back, and start the method BillyBob describes in his Wild tutorial. (It involves lying on your back, totally still, and while you breathe in say 1, and when you breathe out "I'm dreaming" and of course instead of 1 the number that you're at)
At about 50, I started to feel vibrations and a tingling sensation. But, there never was any imagery. The vibrations became heavier, and also the tingling, and after a while I had to really try to breathe properly. My pulse also raised a bit. But after a while, these sensations faded, and at 150 I gave up, since I didn't feel any progress at all.

      So my question:

What to do to continue? Should I just hold on longer? Or did I miss something?

Thanks in advance, I want to try again tonight, so feel free to respond

Don't get discouraged! You should note that not everyone experiences the same imagery. One person might be living in vivid imagery, and someone else (like you) may just not get any imagery at all. Now, you almost got to SP, I would have just kept it going till 200. Also, be enthusiastic about this sort of thing. Don't just say, "This ain't going anywhere" and drop out. I've made that mistake before

Keep at it, remember you're breathing to stay alive, but also counting in rhythm with it to keep your mind awake. You should be very relaxed, loose if you will, and just let SP come to you.

      Good luck!

      Thanks for your reply

This night, I tried again, but this time, after about 200 the vibrations started, but because it took so long, I got too excited and the vibrations faded away. when I reached 400, I stopped, because the breathing in through your mouth (billy's tutorial) really dries it out! Any tips on that, BillyBob?

I really wanna try again tonight, but I really feel I should do something different. Also, I noted that after a while, my body feels very tense, and I of course I then can relax it, but doesn't that make me start over in terms of the sleep paralysis?

I'm gonna hold on with trying this, since I heard all the success stories, sounds like one great technique

A great tech it is, but it's usually hard to get the hang of. How long did you stay awake before going to do the WILD? You should be sufficiently tired so that you can actually get to SP and "fall asleep".

About the dry throat. I breathe through my nose when I count, so that I avoid the problem all together. However, BillyBob has told me that something like manipulaing the saliva in your throat (or just swallowing) doesn't make SP go away as long as it's subtle. Swallowing is a natural thing that happens during the night anyway, like beathing, so I'd imagine it would be fine.

Anyways hope some of this helps!

I have this problem occasionally, did you have a fan on or something circulating the air around your room? if so that may be the problem.

if it turns out that you always get a dry mouth when WILDing just breathe through your nose, the reason I don't say to in the tutorial is because with me, if I breathe through my nose I significantly lessen my chances of actually WILDing (I usually pass out) I don't know exactly why this is, but I think its because I breathe through my nose to sleep. So the act of breathing through my mouth keeps me more alert.

I tried BillyBob's method this morning (in a closet, nice and dark, plenty of space). I was laying there, counting, and I eventually saw some HI. I tried not to focus and "flow" with it, and eventually I felt myself spinning counterclockwise, downward. After this I heard two sounds, which sounded like a garbled vacuum cleaner. At this point my pulse spiked, and they eventually faded. Should my pulse and breathing spike rapidly at this point, or am I becoming too excited and waking myself up?

I've only managed to do WILD once and this was when I didn't know what it was. When it happened I felt my eyes relaxed and come to a close then it was like my body was disconnected and I was just in my head. I started to see weird imagery appearing before my eyes, I thought it was just a weird dream or something, it was weird patterns and sometimes things that looked like hyroglyphics when it came to stop it was like I stepped into the dream at the end, it was like a landscape with a lake in it. It was very vivid and detailed. I have been trying to do it again ever since but no success up to now. Furthest i've got is my body shaking and my heart starts racing then that subsides because i'm too excited. The method I used was focusing on my third-eye and counting my breathing.
