      A question for WILD experts

      So far my experience with LDing has been that it's really hit or miss when using MILD and WBTB. Although it works sometimes, it's just not reliable all the time (or even most of the time in my case.) I've yet to have a successful WILD but from what I've read you're conscious all the way through it so it seems like the chance for success is greater. Is this true?

      I guess what I'm asking is, if you become good and WILDing, can you have more LDs than with MILDs?

      I dont think one is better than the other. I think people like what works for them or they are comfortable doing, preference really. I use WILD and yes you are conscious all the way to the lucid. This doesnt mean it's more reliable it's just a different approach.

      Do what works for you and keep at it!

      Hey phoenelai, thanks for replying. That is a cool pic, is that someone in a sleep lab?

      Concerning WILDs, do you find that you can still fail WILDs or can you have them pretty much whenever you want? Because with MILD, you're just repeating stuff over and over and hoping for the best when you go to sleep whereas with WILD since you stay awake, you *should* be able to control the outcome better. That's the way I see it anyway, but since I've never had a WILD myself I don't speak from experience.

      I can only have successful WILDs after 3-4+ hours of sleep. Otherwise, I'll never fall into Sleep-Paralysis and then roll myself off bed which I how I start mine

      Heheh I wish, if I could WILD when I wanted I think I would change my title to Lucid God. I use WILD along with entrainment to obtain lucidity. Of course I have dryspells just like everyone else. But when I focus for a week straight I can usually pop a lucid. Audio really is my greatest strength, auto suggestion as well but I'm trying to ween myself off of it.

      Regarding that pic, theres a bunch of those photos related to Ganzfeld testing. I just love that stuff and have entered a Lucid from the Ganzfeld state!

      If the WILD technique actually works for you then yes, you can get to a point where you can do it any night you choose

      I haven't mastered any of the other techniques though, so I cant tell you if its more reliable that MILD or WBTB...

      I'd like to master WILD. I've tried it a few times and have come close but each time I either fall asleep or eventually just give up after a long time (sometimes like 2 hours which is very frustrating.)

      One thing that I thought might work for me is, after I wake up after 5-6 hours to immediately try to WILD. This is because if I actually get up and walk around I have a real hard time going back to sleep. Have you ever tried this method?

      I tried that a few times, I always fall right back sleep ()

      but everyone's different, so what doesn't work for me may work for you.
