      I've been doing pretty good with my dream recall lately. I even know I'm dreaming for the most part. But even when I can say to myself "this is a dream", I still can't become lucid. This is really bothering me.....

      If you know that you're dreaming, then you are lucid. that's what lucidity is, knowing that you're dreaming. Do you mean that you can't control your dreams?

      Whenever you say to yourself "This is a dream" look around and try to take control. Do a reality check if you want to be totally sure that you are dreaming.

      If you know you are dreaming then you are lucid, sometimes dream control happens in a LD and sometimes you can't control much or even do anything.
      The important thing is that you know you are dreaming, with more practise and LD's you should be able to gain more control.

      Or maybe you just dreamt that you knew you were dreaming.

      Yeah, that&#39;s what I meant. I have trouble having control in my dreams even though I know I&#39;m dreaming.

      That never happened to me but maybe it will help if you just remind yourself that you are dreaming.
