Any Casio wristwatch will do the job. Just got to amazon.com or to any decent local store.

Here's a good vibrating watch (20 alarms) vibrates for 10 seconds. Great for reality checks through out the day and night while sleeping.

I would be very surprised if you couldn't find a good, inexpensive wristwatch with an hourly chime at Wal-Mart. Or any other department store, discount store, or sporting goods store.

You don't even really need to use the alarms. Just look at the watch and that should be a sufficient RC.

If you always have it with you and it always goes off every hour in real life it should go off every hour in you dream... Or maybe it will just keep beeping.

would an inverted WILD result in sleep walking? (your mind sleeps but your body doesnt)

That seems like a good idea....for years I have worn a Timex Expedition, and I tried to set the one I have now for hourly chime, which I could have sworn they always had, but now they don't seem to do that anymore. I thought maybe if I did RC's when I heard it, I would hear it while I was sleeping and it would trigger an LD. But this vibrating watch might be good; then even if you don't hear it you would feel it. Does it work for you?

I need all the help I can get; I can't seem to get anything to work consistently!

I just started using my Watch Minder2, I've set it to do reality check trigger/Alarm on the hour from 5PM and Until 5AM. It has been set to vibrate so I'm hoping the reality check will also occur in my dreams and not wake me up. I'll keep posting my results.

      Thanks!

Ok I ordered one too; I look like an idiot with two watches on but I still need my other one too. Man that thing is huge it's like an antique digital watch; and I'd hate to be a poor ADD kid trying to set the damn thing (that's what it is really for, it can tell you to hand in your homework, go to the bathroom, etc). But I finally got it going, I'm going to try every 15 minutes to vibrate and tell me to do an RC, all day until 9:00 P.M., then off for a few hours to get some sleep, then start up again at 2:00 A.M. so I'll have a few hours of sleeping with it vibrating. I have a feeling this battery isn't going to last very long. So we'll see what happens. Let me know how it goes for you, phoenalai, and anybody else using this.

I'm taking a slight different approach and to save the battery. For the Week I'm going to to set a TRAIN to reality checks from 15:00 to 21:00 (every HOUR) (3-9PM) through the week. Then on Friday night I'm going to set the period from 2-7AM (night) for the weekend. I think the practice of reality check throughout the week should help my night time checks as well.

We'll keep posting on this thread.

I do not mean in any way to ruin your experiments, but I had quite a strange result when I tried a vibrating watch.
Won't go into much details 'bout it since it's the wrong forum for that.
So I was in my average dream when suddently there was an earthquake, and I started to run to god knows where. Nothing unusual so far, until I noticed I could actually feel this earthquake even when I was in the air (read: matrix jumps), which prompted the famous question "What the hell?" and triggered my very short second LD.

The thing is, this earthquake happened exactly when my watch was supposed to vibrate, so I assumed it was because of it. I did compare the times when I woke up and when the vibration was supposed to occur to find this out.
Wether it might've been placebo or just an exageration of my rather creative mind, it works either way I guess.

Not sure, I will be monitoring it from now on. The manual said typical using allot of alarms you'll get 2-3 months it all depends.

I've been doing 3 days of reality checks from 3-9PM. Tonight I'm thinking about setting the trigger from 2-6AM. I'll keep you posted!

Not a good night last night, been quite sick. I was somehow awake for 2 of the triggers and due to cough medicine slept through the 5:00. I'll keep testing and keep you posted. Hopefully when I feel better, I'll have a better sleep schedule.

I've had my watch for about a week, got it set for every 15 minutes, but it is really annoying me and hasn't worked yet. I'm going to keep trying tho since it cost like $79.

Also it has already gone thru one battery.

P.S. Hope you're feeling better. I seem to remember sickness causing strange dreams when I was a kid, so hopefully you had some small benefit.

Hey moonbeam. I've had to set 2 training schedules. For 3 days I did triggers on every hour (which saves the battery) from 3-9PM. On the last couple of days I would add the night training and set from 2AM- 7AM. So far what I'm noticing is that either the alarm wakes me up or I've slept through it. I dont know if this has anything to do with the medicine I've been taking. Once I get over this sickness i'll let you know. My battery is stil fine which is a good thing.

Same here. Are using the vibrate or the beeper alarm? I kind of thought the vibrate would be more subtle, like just a subliminal thing, but it really buzzes, and I wake up instead of being induced into LD. I took it off last night after being woke up every 15 minutes for a couple hours and put it in a drawer next to me but then I just didn't hear it at all.

It has been a good day-time RC reminder though. I'm sticking with it at night too, it is bound to start working. I don't know how I can eventually fail to LD because of it when it is such a good reminder all day to think about dreaming, and I'll probably get used to the vibrating hopefully and maybe it won't wake me up so easily.

You're probably right, every 15 minutes is too much. I think I'll reprogram and save on batteries too.

I'm using Vibrate (which I think will work for me best)

We'll see how the triggers go when I dont require cough medicine!
