I have been keeping a dream journal for the past few months and have began to notice the returning dreamsigns, but my problem is i am having trouble becoming aware when i see the dreamsign.

Example:- In nearly all my dreams i tend to see my old friends from school, who i dont see anymore which to me is a good dreamsign, but you would think that when i see them i would realise i am dreaming but i dont i seem to just accept it for reality.

Does anyone else have this problem with dreamsign and if you do, do you know of any ways to get over this maybe a technique to help realise im dreaming when i see these ppl. Recently i have changed techniques from DILD's to WILD with no success due to lack of time to really try this, that is why i believe DILD's are my best bet but unless i get past the above problem i seem to be stuck at first base.

I would appreciate any suggestions as i am willing to try anything that has a slight chance of working!

      Thx

Yep, I have similar dreamsigns. They are : a couple classrooms from my old school and seeing old friends/classmates from the same school.

What I do to induce DILD from these dreamsigns:
Every night, sometimes multiple times each night I tell myself the following - "Whenever I see my old classrooms or interact with my old friends in any way I will instantly relize that I'm dreaming and become lucid". Then I proceed to say *why* those classrooms and my old friends are my dreamsigns. I set up an absolute condition - for example there's absolutely no way I will ever again interact with my old friends from my school as they have grown up and now they look differently.
Sorry if this is not very clear or redundant - the main idea is you have to convince yourself that seeing the dreamsign is irrational and therefore it is a sign of you dreaming. The good thing is that it only takes a minute to think of this.

The classroom dreamsign induces LDs 99% of the time because it rarely changes.

People is much harder because the scenery around us is often random. So I succeed at becoming lucid about 50% of the time.

Tonight I had 2 LDs induced by these dreamsigns...

You are unlikely to become lucid by doing this technique for a week or so, it requires a lot of time to sink deep into your mind It took me a couple weeks to "stabilize" the classroom dreamsign and a lot of time to start getting LDs from seeing old friends. BUT it does pay off - I can have LDs every 1-3days without doing anything but repeating the same phrase for a minute or so...

Thanks i will try this 2nite and for the rest of the week, you are right about the scenery changing but the faces of the ppl stay the same no matter how old i get so this is a good sign.

I will get back to you on my results thanks alot!

P.s would it help if i added the affirmation "Whenever I see my old classrooms or interact with my old friends in any way I will instantly relize that I'm dreaming and become lucid" into a subliminal message program like brainbullet to make it take hold easier.

      Thx
