I've had probably an average of 1 or 2 lucids per year since I was young. Now, of course I'm trying for more, which means Reality Checks. Well, Last night in my dream, I read this sheet of paper and it said something about vitamin b6. It didn't make sense in the situation, so I decided to do a Reality Check (the first time in a dream I've remembered to do that). So I did what I thought was a reality check, but it actually wasn't. After I had done was I thought was the reality check, I was disappointed because I thought it must be real. Only after I had woken up and laid there for a minute did I realize that I was dreaming after all before I had woke up. That was kind of frustrating, but promising to know that at least I had remembered to do a check when I encountered something out of the ordinary. I guess the lesson to me and anyone else is to keep up on those RCs, but to do multiple checks to be sure. But it's ok, I ended up having a lucid dream later on anyway which was pretty cool. Sooner or later thinking about all this stuff finds it's way into your dreams:)

What was your RC that failed?
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.

Yeah Im curious about the reality check that failed for you also. Care to elaborate on it a little? But if whatever reality check that you used didn't work out for you then try something different One of my old Reality checks that worked for me very well was jumping up as far as I could, I would know Im Lucid when I realize I'm jumping like 60 feet into the air with little effort.

Actually the reality check I used was something ridiculous like yawning or something. I had done that by mistake instead of doing my real reality check which is either looking at something and then looking away and then back again to see if the image has changed, or I will blink a few times to see if the image changes or not.

By the way this brings up an interesting question I was going to post as it's own separate thread. The question is: To anyone's knowledge is blinking your eyes a few times a good RC? I mean even though I've been randomly occasionally lucid since childhood, I've only recently decided to really commit myself to this stuff, and haven't yet had a lucid experience because of a reality check. So I haven't found out yet if blinking and checking to see if the image has changed is valid. It seems like it probably would be, but then again it could depend on the individual or it could end the dream if it made you actually open your eyes in real life. By the way, I believe in doing at least 2 RCs in a row, so the second is making an effort to levitate.

So what do you all think about that? Has anyone had experience w/ using the blinking RC? Should I go ahead and post this question as it's own separate thread?

      (BTW, amazing signature Ne-yo)

...I don't think that's such a good idea. Some people have problems with blinking their eyes, as it might cause them to wake up (not me in particular), and with the blinking and switching away RC, often the objects will stay the same.

You should try pinching your nose and breathing in (if you can breathe in then you're dreaming) with has worked for me 30/30 times, or try looking at a clock and looking back again, which has worked for me the 2 times I tried it.

The problem is though that I need to have RCs that I can do without anyone knowing it, since a lot of the time I'm at work in both real life and in my dreams. Hopefully there's a fail-safe method out there that is something anyone could just do in normal life anyway, so no one will think I'm crazy.

Try thinking about what you did 5 hours ago. I did that once during a dream, and all I could remember was me walking down my school stairs about 30 seconds ago. Of course I bcame lucid.

Thanks, freefire, I may try that when I gain more experience. Until a few days ago, all I've tried to do when I've become lucid is fly, so unfortunately, I may not be able to put my finger through my palm in a dream just yet, but it's something I can remember for when I gain more experience. Also, is there an extensive list somewhere on this site of all the known RCs? That would be great!
