I'ts a powerful aid to WILD. You can do it alone or combined with any technique you like:

      -Sleep for 6 hrs
      -Wake up for some minutes
-Write down that you will have a lucid dream, and what you plan to do in it.
-Go back to bed, and lay face up.
-Relax, try to fall deeply asleep again.

And finally... (here comes the new stuff )
-Every minute (aprox) ... SMILE! and while you smile you think, "I'm entering to my dream, I'm aware, I will be lucid"

It's incredible how smiling helps you entering to a more relaxing state, and helps keeping your mind lucid.
Try it! It worked for me

Yes. When you are in complete relaxation, and you smile, (only for a seccond, then your face goes back to your normal expression), something happens in your brain, that you can go deeper faster an without loosing you awarness.

The fact to remember "every 1 minute I'll smile" helps you focus in what you're doing.
And the good thin about smiling is that it is a simple thing to do, only with your face, you don't have to move. And you don't loose your progress.

Hmm interresting. Maybe smiling works good because it allows you to focus on the quick thought:''Closer to entering a dream every minute that passes''

However most people attempting WILD, including myself, at a certain stage find it hard to focus and control tyhier thoughts as they dwell further and further.
Perhaps this technique could be added up to my Auditory WILD-aid method where every 2 Minutes you hear a Churchbell ring 4 times. Check My Topic about it.

Fall asleep, smile everytime you hear the bells with the pleasant thought of ''being yet another 2 minutes closer to entering a Dream''. Eventhough your Mind may wander off into distractive thoughts the Bells ringing will be a constant reminder to stay on track and stay concious and focus. Guess that would give you a good reason to smile as well A smile with a meaning.
