      Post

      Hi!

Well, I just read Gothlark's tutorial on HILD, and thinking about all the benefits of it.
Apart from the obvious lucid dream induction part, here are some other things I find
      promising of this technique...

-Falling asleep quickly. Yeah, I kinda have a problem with falling asleep, though I am getting
much better at it. This technique sounds great for it.

      - Performing WILDS. Perhaps after you feel really heavy, you can concentrate on attempting (and succeeding) a WILD?

-Changing feeling. This could probably kill stress and other things, so, well, you get the picture.

As of tonight, I am gonna keep trying this technique, as I have been trying to WILD instead every night and I have only suceeded twice. Also, I am wondering if anybody else wants to start this technique. Maybe some kind of race or just talking about how far we got in this thread?

Good luck to those who try this as well - Stoat.

Hypnotic induction is a simple process if you understand the methods of making a sustaining suggestion. The key to this technique is to loose touch of your surroundings, concentrating only on your inter voice. MAKE SURE that after you fall into the trance, you continue to deepen it by suggesting something such as ("With each breath I take, I become more and more relaxed. Counting from 10, 9, 8, ect.) If you want success that will last weeks, you must repeat what I said until you have entered a deep trance.

Just remember, the better the quality of the suggestion, the better the quality of the desired effect. The only way for a quality suggestion, is through deep hypnosis (only attainable from repeating the relaxation phase multiple times)

I hope that helps when you try it

      Thanks Sweetshoes18.

I tried it yesterday, and I fell asleep at the sandbags
That is still good for me though, as I usually take ages to fall asleep, and this time I took a very short time.

Also, my suggestions are of high quality. I have a pretty strong will when it comes to making myself belive something, which I have already practised anyway while learning to do quality Reality Checks.

Has this technique worked for anyone here (mainly aiming question at Sweetshoes18)? I think it shows great promise.

      Cheers!

I have attempted this, yes. However, I received no dramatic results because I put no effort into to this. I have been using my hypnotic abilities for other things that concern me with my life and I have not had time to start this with enough perseverance to succeed. I am going to work on this in the future and I am almost going to guarantee my success. I will actually start within the week

      Ill keep you posted

      Cool.

I tried again yesterday, but as I had showered just before I went to sleep (right before), there was still some water/oil mixture like stuff in my ear, and that made it very itchy, and when I was making myself heavier, it just got so irritating. And when you stop, you don't really have the Will to try again, so I just fell asleep normally.

      Good luck!

Hooray, today I had a lucid dream, and I did a HILD before I fell asleep. I have no way of knowing if it was the HILD that gave me a lucid dream, but let's just say yes!

Good luck to anyone else HILDing!

The HILD should at least give you sufficient confidence to LD. I don't really like the script for self-hypnosis given on Dream Views, but thats just because the sandbags never work for me. Theres too much too remember and also the words seem to dilute the process for me. I chave been doing self-hypnosis for years now and I have found what works for me, and I don't mean to say the script is bad I just want to suggest everyone find their own way because when it's done your way you are more comfortable ad it is also more your experience.

I think I might write a tutorial later on in the week.

Ill make a few different methods so people can find the one that suits them best... however I do not recomend this technique if you really do not have the patience or the time

I found that a good way to enter deeper and deeper trance is by both suggestion: after each 2 minutes that pass you'll fall deeper and deeper into a trance state + Focussing on visual Hypnagogic Images: They are always present whevenever we close our eyes

It's easy to loose focus and track of time when entering trance. Therefor you can download my MP3 from a link posted in This Topic and play it while you go asleep/ enter trance. Everytime you hear the bell ring you know 2 minutes have passed and know that at every ring of the bells you will sink deper into trance. With this Suggestion+ the MP3 on repeat I found it very easy to fall asleep FAST and stay concious very long and ALMOST into the Transition phase conciously.

I've done HILD a couple times, and while I didn't really enter a deep trance, I got pretty damn relaxed, and using lots of autosuggestion, I induced a couple short LDs. Actually, thinking back, when I am not LDing, and really want to LD, I do lots of RCs combined with a HILD, and I get an LD in a couple days. So yeah, I guess it's sorta worked.
