I was in the shower thinking about lucid dreaming, (I do my second best thinking in the shower but thats not important), and I accidently discovered this technique. <--(SP) It's very simple, but the only difficult part is not being tricked into a normal dream. This can work, (possibly better?) if you WBTB as well. I recommended you don't try this with anything like caffine because it will likly just hinder your easy transition. Alright, feel free to reproduce this as much as you want as long as you give credit to me. Also, if it sucks for everyone except me than just ingnore this.
Step 1: First you need to be as tired as possible. Easy way to do this is to watch movie after movie untill late (or early) untill the point where you can hardly keep your eyes open any longer.
Step 2: Turn off all lights and close curtians ect. untill there is no light in your room. I mean it! Absoulutly no light, the key is so that you can't tell when your eyes are open or closed.
Step 3: No noise. At all.
Step 4: Lie down in a comfortable position, (although I find that this works best on your back, looking at the ceiling), and keep your eyes open.
Step 5: Focus on keeping your eyes open, try not to let them slip. At this point I can never tell when they do close because i'm always so tired I fall asleep almost instantly.
Now by Focusing on keeping your eyes open you should be able to unknowingly WILD, (unknowingly because untill the hypnagogic imagry, you will think your eyes are open.) At this point just try to stay calm, and enjoy.
P.S. It is also worthy of noting that untill using SILD I had never had a lucid dream, and this feels like a monumental accomplishment to me, it really is all that and a bag of potato chips.
