      Lightbulb

I listened to this one CD with (Shamanic) Drumming on it. It was basically Drumming in a pattern either getting 'higher' or 'lower'/ 'faster' or 'slower'.....Then Later i read about (Shamanic) Drumming - that because of the fact that each 'beat' of the brain (waves?) is a certain speed and tempo, that it can induce theta/alpha and maybe even delta - which is the deepest rest while asleep

something like that.....I've noticed that just by listening, my 'stressful/worrysome' thoughts 'melt'! - Even if I have a headache or literally have a hundred thoughts, it make them go away and i do get into this weird TRANCE like state.......Nothing bad, or evil.....I just think they found out how to induce dreams - maybe..

      What I've heard is that 3beats/second works (what state - beta/theta/alpha - I don't know) TRY IT

-- ANother thing is that yogis/meditators try to 'induce'/'achieve' this state - of being in a non-beta state while still being conscious (of your body)

This can help induce some weird (but not boring) dreams, I suppose (no guarentees..)- Tell me what you think...

Yeah, it's all the repitition. Which makes me think again. Do you think you could get into a trance by watching/listening to anything that's repetative?

I'm not the person to ask because I'm not sure whether it is or not..

I think the 'shamanic journey' is what we call a WILD. I don't know though, I've got a CD of shamanic drumming but I haven't had any success with it as yet.

Really, you believe that drumming is relaxing.

There you go believing those New Age Wordsmiths again.

They'll say anything, no matter how ridiculous, and SOMEBODY will believe them.

Yes, Drumming does have its use. It can drive people into a very motivated frenzy. Armies used to use drummers to fend off cowardice while men were marched to their certain death. But it was no trance. It was the Beat. Runners now use those Ipods so that they can run those 10 mile training runs while ignoring their exhaustion... running to the beat... nobody trains to Mozart.

You think that I am being cynical, again, but I used to lead such Shamanistic Drum Classes. By special invitation. You see, I used to be considered something of an expert on the Indian Tabula Drums, and some of you might actually have heard of me... if you knew my stage name...

So I know the benefits of drumming, and I know it when I hear bullshit.

Out of interest, what do you think of Michael Harner and The Foundation for Shamanic Studies Leo?

I like to run to Djembe drumming myself.

      Hey everyone

Yeh, on brainwave generator listen to the preset Shaman Beat, it is really weird. It does the job of making you go into a trance. I recommend it and use earphones.

I guess that by drumming on the rythm of the Music makes you focus even more so on the attention: Same for Dancing, you gotta move to the beat. This attention focussing can be pleasant, meditative and bring you in a trance. I get it alot from dancing and listening to music. Especially making music when playing on my Guitar or Synthesizer piano. I'm gunna try and play some Piano while thinking about Lucid Dreams and kinda play something ''lucid''.

I heard something very relaxing on the radio a while ago, there was this ambient mix with a piano and some synthesizers. For an example on their style, they would play the note 'C' for about 2 and a half minutes (get it into your head), then they would play 'C#' next.

Basically, the piece is a very gradual climax of notes, and I guaruntee that listening to slow changing music like that would get you relaxed, possibly get you into a trance too. The music piece took about half an hour to climb about an octave high. Every time the notes go up a semitone, it has the same effect on the brain: "The music has changed." But you don't recognise how much it has changed, because it's so slow moving; half an hour's a long time!
