I haven't had a lucid dream yet, but since I think I have made some good progress I'll post my story here.
Even though I've known about lucidity for some time now, I've never really taken the initiative to attempt it. This Monday although, I read a topic on these forums about how someone went without food or talking for two days and achieved lucidity. So I choose a modified version of this idea (someone posted it in the original topic) and decided to go without masterbation until I experienced a lucid dream. The results so far seem fairly good, considering the fact that I didn't expect to see results at all and end up abandoning the idea within one or two weeks.
I started Monday, and at the time had no dream recall at all. The next day I vagely remebered my dreams of the night before. This in my opinion is a significant improvement from no recall at all. The day after that I decided to start a dream journal and since then have been able to remeber at least two dreams a night. (Keep in mind that this is all during the week when I have to wake up at 5:30 am, and typically go to bed rather late).
Today(Friday) I think I have seen the most progress of all because of my latest dream. I dreamed that I gave up on this conditioning idea and masterbated. When I woke up and I at first thought that it wasn't a dream at all, and took me a few seconds to realise that it was actually a dream. This seams significant because I can't remeber ever being able to recall a dream like that. I also think this is an improvement because the idea of lucidity was actually incorporated into a dream.
Also keep in mind that I'm not a compulsive masterbator. So I think this method could work for just about anyone with patience, of course results will vary
Good luck with your attempts everyone. Hopefully it won't take me long to go all the way with this method.
