here is a testament to the idea of giving up on something and then it happening. ive been tying WILD for a couple weeks, kinda was getting unmotivated. this past weekend sucked in the sense that i did a lot of things i shouldnt have done and really felt like i lost touch my with spiritual side. anyway, last night in my sorrow i ate a 10" pizza and a bunch of wings from a subshop at like 10pm. i went to bed around 1130, had a near lucid dream, and woke up at 4 writhing in nausea. i spent the next 3 hours cursing myself for eating like that and llaying on my futon watching futurama and then the movie Eraserhead to clear my mind which was keeping me from falling asleep again. i went back to bed around 730. WILD was the last thing on my mind and all i wanted to do was sleep and stop thinking about stupid things. out of nowhere i get this extreme tired feeling, like the most tired ive ever felt and then my heartrate skyrockets, which is something i recognized from my WILD attempts before. this time however, i tried not to get too excited and just surrendered myself to the experience reminding myself that im still in bed. i then heard this crazy droning static noise and felt my arms extending outward and my torso being LIFTED out of my bed. i knew what was happening and i opened my eyes and id see my normal room, then open them again and id see my dream room and into my living room which i knew wasnt the normal one (looked nothing like it). meanwhile, im physically struggling to move, to get out of bed into the living room because i want so badly to be in the astral plane. my body felt like it was made of wax and everytime i felt like i was in my living room my body was imossible to manipulate and everything was white and i was partially blind. this happened a couple times until i started wondering if im sleep paralysis and i guess i must have moved my physical limbs because then i woke up. i was grinning like a moron though!
i think next time i will try a more systematic approach to seperation instead of a full-body struggle.

also, if it interests anyone, during the hours i was awake before i WILD'd i had eaten some dark chocolate and taken a valerian root, for those who are interested in supplemtation.

ive literally never gotten beyond the heart-racing, so im very excited to have had this experience. does anyone else's WILD;s compare with mine in sensation?

This seems to be fairly similar to my experiences, though they haven't been many. But, it SOUNDS from your account, that you MAY have tried to do too much, too soon in the WILD. Instead of moving around and getting up immediately, you may want to let the dream "solidify" a bit more in future, before you try to get up off your bed and walk around in the dream.

I find it helps to look at the back of your hand... and if you feel unsteady in the dream and off-balance, and shit is shifting around you... sort of "Drunken Walls"... (You'll understand what that means if you experience it...) then, I find it helps to grab on to something, like a table, to steady yourself, and concentrate on how the table (or whatever) feels under your hands. The general idea, is to make a dream more stable through focussing on sensation, whether touch, sight, hearing, etc.

Also, you describe your torso being "lifted" off your bed. This is exactly what I get. Classic WILD, you made a successful transition. Congratulations!

And BTW, about the "astral plane"... a great number of members, myself included, don't believe in all this "astral" stuff, despite having had experiences that "believers" would label as "astral" or "out of body". So, just saying, don't take Astral stuff as absolute fact. I think it's new-age rubbish, but hey, whatever.

But anyway, good work on your first successful WILD. And yes, this WAS a success.

i really dont get people who differentiate between LD and AP...theyre the same thing, different methods. but thats my thinking.

i think thats very limited to dismiss the astral plane of existence. as uncanny as dreams themselves are, why would there not be a different vibrational plane for things to occur?

good, i was hoping it wasnt just a dream!
