      Hi,
I had my first real attempt at a WILD last night and I had surprising results. I heard some voices, saw some streaks of color, then by the count of 50 I body felt as though it were flying off to the right. My head also felt asthough it were moving even though I was still lying perfectly still. Also at 50 my heart rate increased (I couldn't hear the beating before but now I could hear it racing.) What stopped me from getting further than this point was I had the feeling that my eyes were being forced open. It felt like they were fluttering and eventually I gave up fighting and opened my eyes. I was wearing a sleeping mask so I dont know if I had opened my eyes before that point. I was wondering if this is a normal sensation and if so how can you work around it.

      Any advice would be appreciated

You're just new at WILD. When new and special stuff happens, your body often reacts in a rather weird way. It will carry away after a few WILD/WILD attempts

it is probably fear of the unknown. This is probably why your heart rate increases because of adrenaline.

I have the same problem as well and I can honestly say that I know it is not the fear of the unknown. One night I began to get the beginning on HIs and became very excited and wanted them to get more vivid.

If anything I would say it were excitement and maybe just the fact that your brain sees something, so it figures that it should open its eyes to see it more vividly. I honestly don't know though, I'd really like to figure it out.

Wow, I was planning on asking this as well!

and maybe just the fact that your brain sees something, so it figures that it should open its eyes to see it more vividly.[/b]

That does make a lot of sense, especially from what Polobear said.. but when I get that, it happens before I see anything at all

Do you think it's better to force yourself to keep your eyes closed? That seems like it'd take away from the WILD, and perhaps it's just better to let your body do what it's doing?

I wish I could offer some great insight...

I am very curious to see how to fix this
