recently, a lot of my dreams have been real foggy, so.. as you do - i've been trying to focus on certain things when I'm dreaming to increased the vividness.. you know, to check that I'm dreaming etc. last time I tried looking at my hands in a dream; before I could get a good look at them, I got a tremendous shooting pain throughout both sides of my body.. It was as if my sides cramped or something. this pain kept happening every time I checked my hands throughout the night, and I couldn't get rid of it. In the end I stopped.... it hurt badly.

Hmm, that's strange. Have you tried any other RCs and had the same reaction?

tbh, I don't do reality checks that often... because I usually already know that I'm dreaming, or something else in the surroundings will catch my attention first and tell me - reality checks are my last resort really. and checking my hands is the only solid method that I'll use.... a while ago, I used to get pins and needles real bad when I looked at my hands in a dream. but I think that came with them being on fire. I've only just remembered that.

      thanks...

I suggest you set yourself to make secondary RCs, in case the first fails or, as in your case, makes you unconfortable. For example, my main RC is to simply glimpse at my hand watch, if i'm still not sure after that, i try to count backwards from a random number, etc.

This kind of attitude is what makes dreams go completely unnoticed
