I just got a casio "Alarm Chrono" wristwatch to use during RC's in hopes of increasing my LD frequency. The first day I got the watch, I made sure to do a reality check everytime I looked at the time. I also did a reality check whenever I woke up during the night (which is frequent; I am a light sleeper). Additionally I set it to "hourly alarm," so whenever it beeps I do a reality check as well.

For the two days I've had this watch, I've had two remarkably vivid, stable lucid dreams. When I am dreaming, the watch displays roman numerals and strange glyphs, or simply changes the time whenever I look away and look back.

I know this is a well known technique, but I can't beleive how much sucess I've had with it so quickly.

My RC consists of looking at my watch and seriously asking myself, "Am I dreaming?" I note the hour, minute, and number of seconds. Then I look away and look back and make sure the hour and minute are the same. Then I look away again, and count out ten or fifteen seconds while I look around my surroundings for anything odd. When I look back at my watch, I check to make sure the number of seconds I counted passing adds up to the seconds now displayed on the watch.

So, basically, if you don't have a digital wristwatch, get one. This RC works amazingly well, and it's also handy for noting the date and time when making an entry into your dream journal.
