First of all my room has a desk and to the right and left of it are my window curtens. They are both blue. So in my dream I first became a little suspicous when I looked over at my curtens and they are sparkling and I thought that's weird. So I looked to my left and my friend is standing there. He was talking but I wasn't listening so then I started to and he said that is weird you should do an RC. So what I did was take my hand and said to myself if this is a dream my hand should be able to go through this bed. I tried a few times and determined I was awake. Any tips to prevent this it's really unfortunate b/c it was a really vivid and detailed with no blured vision.

Ouch. Sucks that you missed such a great opportunity.

Anyway, to prevent that from ever happening again, you need a more reliable reality check. There are some good ones out there, but the only one I use is the digital watch technique. Of all the times I've performed a RC in my dream, I've never once missed an opportunity because of a failed reality check.

If the digital watch technique isn't right for you, no problem, just look around until you find one that fits you. The greatest reality check = reliability + personal compatability.

Another great RC is the breathing-through-hand one. You pinch your nose so that normally you can't breathe, however in dreams you often can.

btw, I'd definately suggest using 2 or 3 reality checks together. Like the check-text-twice-to-see-if-it-changed one, the watch one, the hand go through hand one, and the nose-breathing one.

yeah I agree with Metroid48, Yeah you may want to double up on those RC's. Just to have something to fall back on. You were so close but don't let it discourage you. Keep Focus you'll get there.

Ya well I actually had my 6th Ld 2 days ago. Pretty cool I was going like 100 miles an hour of a cliff landed then got out unharmed turned to my left and there was this guy there. He said dude you ruined your car then for some reason I just knew I was dreaming.

What I did was drink a chocolate protein shake before bed woke up at 4 turned on my ipod listened to the thing where the guy is telling you to become aware. Then boom I had an LD I would have had another that night but the dream was way too real. I moved to Germany and everyone was speaking perfect German I was positive wasn't dreaming I guess I have to always assume Im not.
