      I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm still learning this forum. I haven't seen anything like this mentioned around here (unless I missed it).

      <div align="center">Creating an RC object:</div>

      I&#39;ve found it useful to create a physical object that only serves the purpose of reminding me to RC. This object should have no other purpose, as far as you are concerned.

      For example, I&#39;ve taken a large coin (the size of a US dollar coin, about two inches wide) and have used a jeweler&#39;s saw to cut an intricate pattern in it. I then created a wavy bend at its edge. With the wave, the coin does not sit flat. This coin goes in my pocket every day, along with my pocket knife, Chap-stick, watch, etc... Whenever I see the coin I know to do a RC because I spent an few hours making the thing. It&#39;s creation was for that sole purpose.

      Every time I reach into my pocket, I feel the coin because of the pierced pattern and wavy edge all the way around it. Again I&#39;m prompted to RC.

      Your RC creation may be anything that you&#39;ve spent some time producing for the sole purpose of RC reminders. It can be a painting on your wall, a sculpture made of bottle caps, a wind chime, a fancy "dream catcher" (no pun intended, but appreciated), whatever appeals to you. As long as you have it where you&#39;ll be exposed to it on a regular basis it can serve a useful purpose. The more you use it the more likely it will appear in your dreams, prompting you to RC.

      Have you had much success with actually having that object in your dreams? I mean... I always do stuff with my key-chain throughout the day, but I never remember having any dreams where I use it for anything.

      I wouldn&#39;t say I&#39;ve had "much" success but I have had success. I only made it about a month ago (but I&#39;ve had the idea for a long time now) and I&#39;ve had it appear in only two dreams that have become lucid. I think the difference between it and a standard key-chain is that I created it for that purpose so it has a special dream-related significance to me. Admittedly, it&#39;s a work in progress but, it does get me to RC more often than I would otherwise. When I go to get lunch and put the change in my pocket, there it is. When I need Chap stick, to check my watch or to check a note in my pocket, there it is. Sometimes I can feel it through my pants and get reminded. It&#39;s kind of like the ole&#39; "tie a string around your finger" idea: you&#39;ll never forget why it&#39;s there.

      I try the doorway reminder but for some reason I can never remember to do so. Perhaps if it were a doorway made specifically for dreams...

      I&#39;ve made a carving once that was for that purpose but it ended up going in my box of woodcarvings and I never really thought much more about it. Though, even it appeared in a dream or two.

      LOL I guess the pink post-it note that got washed a few times (it says "Are U Dreaming?" and I laminated it with scotch tape) is probably not good enuf. I think I&#39;ll make a special thing (that can withstand the washing machine.)

      (Maybe something that shocks me, I&#39;m begninning to think that&#39;s what it will take. Wait a second...I just got a good idea...like a shock-collar that detects REM. Don&#39;t steal my idea&#33; }

      Aww, so sorry. It&#39;s been done and with little success. The concept appears sound but - in practice - it seems that it was prone to jarring the user awake.

      Really? I should have known it&#39;s been tested already. Maybe just a light shock...but I guess that would be similar to the vibrating watch I had, which didn&#39;t work too well either.

      I can&#39;t recall who made it or what he named it but it supplied either random or periodic shocks (I forget which), as opposed to detecting REM periods. Perhaps if the device actually detected REM it may have had better success. Who knows.

      Yeah good idea. Even if it doesn&#39;t appear in dreams it will help me to do more RCs I suck at them
