I do not practice RC myself but know a lot of the people here have great results using them. My issue with them is that: a) I am lazy b)They are not completely reliable and do not offer immediate results |

I have been doing reality checks for over 4 months now. I have tried to get them in my subconscious mind and also do it on certain occasions. I get the impression they are completely useless. The few times I got lucid was not of some reality check but simply through coincidence. Not in a single dream I made a RC out ouf habit. |

If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
There are 2 types of RC: |

I agree with Ev on surpressing rationalization. Doing a thorough RC in real life as opposed to a dream will not be the same. We won't be able to think the same way, so expect thinking to be hard in dreams! So yah, RC's need to be instant, easy, and habitual. Don't think too much. |

naturals are what we call people who did all the right things accidentally
yeah...some people cannot attain lucidity through RC's... |

I think the trick of going lucid through RCs is to do them a LOT. And I mean atleast once an hour, more if you remeber. And then you might not get results for like a week or two or longer. I am pretty sure if you did it like every 30 minutes, for a month stright you will have more lucid dreams than any of us. |

ok thanx for all your answers, i'll try this what alric suggested. i will exaggerate it with RCs, 30 a day at least. yeah, i'm gonna count them. this way my subconscious mind just can't ignore it. |

as soon as summer vacation rolls around for me (3 months of absolutely nothing for me to do |

well. some techniques may not work for some people, but for some they do...you just have to find the ones that work for you. |

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
some things work for some, and not for others, the way I have managed to have a couple of lucid dreams is by simply thinking about them, reality checking, telling myself I am going to have a good dream, and telling myself I WILL become lucid, all of these combined things have worked well. its just a case of mixing things up and trying to see what works for you. |
