      my fool proof method

First off- hello im a new member. Ive been interested in lucid dreams for a long time and have achived them a few times in my life. Anyway I have a simple method (it may have been covered already here but im a newb so forgive me)
All I do is write the word "AWAKE" on my hand then whenever i look at my hand I look around me and ask myself if i really am dreaming. Its a good way to remind me to seriously check my reality and see if im dreaming or not.
I did this for a week or two before I had a lucid dream. In the dream i was walking around a school and suddenly realised it wasnt somewhere i would normally be so i checked my hand and instead of "AWAKE" I had a long poem written there instead.
I told a friend about this method and within three weeks of doing trying it out for himself he had his first lucid dream.

It does work although you might get some strange looks off people if you walk around with 'awake' on your hand all the time :-)

That technique kicks ass. I think instead though, I'll write "Don't Panic," as it is written on the front of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Thanks for the strategy! I will use it well.

The only periodic RC I tried was the setting the watch to beep every 30 min with my old watch. Until it broke. Good tip with this.

That has to be one of the best tips I've read on t'internet, gonna try it if my wife and daughter haven't stolen all the pens again, it's like living with magpies hooked on ink).

Ive put it on both hands, just to make sure

However, I fear it will be lost among the forest of notes I've written on my hand. I have a bad memory. Don't worry, my dream recall is alright ;D

"Please don't stick that in there" , no she never said that, she's always asleep . Thanks for the welcome, I'm gonna start my journal tonight, I only managed to reality check twice today , though its been kinda strange because my missus is 14 days overdue pregnant so the whole day has seemed unreal. I thought the midwives would think me weird if I was trying to argue the toss about natural birth with them whilst having AWAKE! on me hand. Still I was almost lucid last night, I was aware of dreaming as I often am , but just not in control too much. I also think one of my dream signs is Kylie Minogue, and no i'm not pulling your leg. She's quite a good one as I don't often see dwarven antipodean popstars in my line of work (gardening) Thos the missus (who also shares my trade) did look up from her weeding one day to see Ronan Keating smiling at her. Smarmy git. Kylie isn't even my type so I'll just have to keep hoping for Uma Thurman.
      Take care folks!

Heh, you could write it backwards on your forehead so that you see it every time you look in the mirror

      ****

Also, just learnt that 'T'internet' comes from pheonix nights, ah such comedy :-)

      Dammit.

I tried that for a day, and then that night I recall having a dream about someone writing an appointment time on my hand, but I didnt become lucid. Today (the second day of writing it on my hand) Im already used to having it on my hand, and I havent really done many reality checks.

Perhaps I WILL put it on my head. Maybe Ill need a new body part every day

the problem with this method is you have to change it up slightly every so often in a logical pattern, otherwise you'd get too used to it (like if you tatooed it), and it could very well start showing up normal in your dreams as well, cause you're that used to it

I tried writing L on my left hand and D on the other.
Unfortunately this was never the cause of any of my LD's.
But, what works for one might not work for another, etc
