I'm no expert on DILDs but questioning your surroundings and reality checking in waking life should become a habit, so much so that you'll start questioning and RCing in dreams. One time you'll RC and viola, you'll discover you're in a dream.

Or, some really odd or impossible aspect will clue me in that I"m in mid dream. And, sometimes I just become lucid for no apparent reason.

      Practice will get you there.

Vex, just curious, if you're not an expert on DILDs then what method do you practice? 'Cause I see that you have over 1,300 posts and are a moderator... do you use WILD? Are you successful with it?

I prefer to WILD when possible. I'm decent at it I think. I've had over 70 LD's since joining Dream VIews and if I remember correctly about half of them were WILDs.

I'm more analytical in WILDs. I remember the lucid tasks or personal lucid tasks I've chosen for myself. I haven't had a WILD in a while though... due to stress I"m thinking.

I do occasionally reality check and question my surroundings. And once in a great while I do the same in dreams and find myself in a DILD. Even discussing lucid dreaming with someone before bed can sometimes help induce a DILD. A lot of the time though, like I said before, I just become lucid for no apparent reason.

i started getting dilds like this

i started a dream jornal to increase dream recall, find my dreamsigns, and to increase dream realism

at around the same time i started doing nose rcs randomly throughout the day hoping that i would start RCing in my dreams

had my first dild about a week later. They got more frequent from then on about once a week on average. I found that stress kills my dild scedule, and im still trying to get back to once a week dilds

dilds are very random. Its pretty much impossible to predict when you will have one. i found thatt trying other techniques, especially wbtb, helps alot with dilds frequency

well thatshow i personally started getting dilds hope ya liked it

I got my first DILD by doing more than 20 RC's a day (before I did 3-10) and visualising one of my dreamsigns if RC failed. Adding some emotion to your RC helps. Most of them were hand RC's (cause they're easiest to do and reliable). And you need to have pretty good recall to remember DILD's. Alarm clock might be helpful.
