I found the site when I was searching for informatin on dream control. I figured i'd give it a try and see if it was possible. I had my first 2 lucids in about a week and a half and my third about 2 weeks after that. My progress was unusually quick so never give up. when you finaly get your first LD, the wait will have been way worth it. Have fun and good luck. You can PM me with any questions, and Seeker (the administrator) is incredibly helpful/supportive. Once again, good luck.

thanks. i know from the school library that dreaming happens virtually everynight. you don't remember it however unless you wake up. [or so the book implied] so my main problem is that i don't wake up during dreams therefore i have trouble working on dream recall. i read on here that dreams are most common after about 5 to 6 hours of sleep. so setting an alarm to wake you up after 5 hours would help with dream recall right? that's my next plan anyway. sound legit?

It can help with recall, but if you don't have good recall, you're likely to just forget it anyways. A better way to improve recall is to start a dream journal, to write in every morning when you wake up. Even if you only remember a fragment of your dream, writing it down will keep you from forgetting it, and help you recall more. Over time, you get more practice recalling dreams, and begin to remember more and more.

You don't virtually dream every night, you do dream every night. I believe the average person has anywheres from 4-6 full length REM dreams per night, though that can differ, some people claim to have like 12 or so, which leads me to believe they may be just little dreams inside a dream or whatever, but who really knows.

Waking up straight from a dream is usually one of the best methods to remember it, but obviously it doesn't always work all that great, it's not a foolproof method. Taking vitamin B6, either in pill form, or from eating things such as bananas helps you to recall dreams greatly. Also, like Serith said, dream journals do wonders.

When I started off, I could only remember maybe a little tiny bit of one dream, but after about two months of keeping a dream journal every morning, I was writing out full-length dreams that took me about forty-five minutes to fully write out. So yeah, if you have the time and the willpower, definitely keep a dream journal.
