I'm new here, and I've been attempting LDs ever since I first found out about them last year. Unfortunately, I couldn't practice enough, as I had school interfering with my freedom and wasn't able to mess with my sleeping habits. Today was the last day of school, and we only had to go for an hour and a half to complete our finals, so now I'm on summer break. Since school ended early today and I had gotten roughly five hours of sleep, and had been awake for about two hours, I thought it was a good time to try and WBTB. I lied in bed and tried to WILD a few times, but kept falling asleep. Upon waking back up, I tried to WILD again, and after about 20 seconds, I went into sleep paralysis. This is the first time I've ever induced SP on myself, mind you. My vision became blurry and spiralled into a blue vortex. I felt like I was going into a dream, but as you know, SP is TERRIFYING, so I sacrificed my chance at an LD and forced myself to move. It was surprisingly easy, because usually I can't leave SP so quickly. I felt the dream I was imagining beginning to take shape, but I was so scared of SP that I forced myself out of it. Was I close to being lucid?

Actually, I did have an LD once before. See, I set my Nintendo DS alarm to go off at just the right volume to get my attention without waking me. The alarm allowed me to realize that I was dreaming about being in a department store. Unfortunately, the DS alarm never goes off unless you do it manually, so my grandma woke me up to turn it off, nullifying the dream. But at least it let me know that LDs were real. Still, my first LD wasted in a dim store with senile DCs.
