I think this one may be worth it...
Je33icaLy88 has a great point though.
But I think it would be substantially different because...
1. The punishment is self-induced. Because of this, you are only fighting yourself. Sure, it may be a little stressful on the mind, and you'll probably end up giving up (finally realizing... "so what if i don't lucid dream, i don't HAVE to take a cold shower. i can do whatever i want"), but self-induced punishment [reason goes here].
2. Because of the self-induced punishment, you are fighting for a worthy cause that you want. You want to attain lucidity. You realize you need to work towards that, otherwise you'll suck and fail. When you fail, you'll need to tell yourself not to fail again so that you can only succeed. Rebelling _your parents_ namely is our nature because of how we are brought up in this world. We don't WANT to take out the trash.. What good is it to us? But attaining lucidity, well, we all know the benefits of that...
And stuff.
Stuff..
blah.
