      Interesting WILD technique

I just finished reading Dune...and I couldn't get it off my mind
so no matter how I tried to concentrate on my breathing, nothing would happen, because my thoughts kept straying back to Dune.

That was when I decided to role with it, and just went with the imagery of the book, and it did I fantastic job. While I have not had a successful WILD yet, this technique brought me closer to having one thus far. And I'm going to continue working with it.
There is something about the imagery a book provides that is so much more concrete than our own thoughts sometimes, and I found thinking of scenery from a book much easier to do.
I strongly suggest giving it a shot, one might be pleasently surprised.

I also found out that our bodies will go into REM sleep much faster if we're very tired tired, so I think that you can try and do the WBTB method, or you can go to bed when you feel extremely tired, and try to WILD, you may have similar results, but everyone is different, so I'm guessing it varies from person to person

      thanks for the read

I agree with what you have said in that it is easier to wild if you already have imagery in your head that you can just let go by and keep a slight focus on I have had many a Succesfull WILD from doing so.
