      Help with WILD plz

hi this is my first post, but i have been looking around the site for abt a week or so. ive looked at many different methods of attaining lucidity and i decided that the first one i wanted to try is WILD. So this is wat happened..i was unsuccessful but i need to know if i was close at all in any sense.

so i turned off the light and went to bed. I lie down in a straight position with my hands and arms resting beside my thighs. I gently closed my eyes and i started thinking about things. At first i repeatedly said to myself "I am dreaming" and "Am i dreaming" a few times. Then my thoughts drifted and i pictured myself riding a parachute and i was up really really high and i imagined how nice the world wud hav looekd from up there. Then I purposely made my mind wander to a completely different scenario. This time i was in a haunted house and i tried to scare myself by thinking of ghosts and stuff. I had a few coming and going "ants" feeling all over my body a couple times. So i kept thinking abt other thoughts as well for a while and then i started going thru the alphabet and thinking of an object with each alphabet. By this time i could really feel that my body was partially if not fully paralyzed. I also started to see many "dull coloured" swirls (stuff u see wen u close ur eyes). I kept my breathing constant the whole time too. I felt i had this all under control but suddenly i just fell asleep . I dont even know if i was doing it porper or if i ws close at all.. can sum1 plz help and tell if igot anything accomplished and if i was close..thx

Sounds like you got really close, but at that critical transition phase you fell asleep. All I can say is keep doing what you're doing, you're on the right track. Try to keep concious by concentrating a little harder, but not too hard that you don't get to sleep. It takes practice, but you were so close! I bet next time you get it.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Yes, as Lunalight said, you were very very close. A balance of concentration is necessary for WILDing: if you concentrate too much, it won't work; if you concentrate too little, you'll fall asleep. Don't worry about it though, this commonly happens to beginners. With time, you'll get better. Keep it up!
