Why was my lucid dream blocked?

Ok so today I woke up with only a dull little fragment of a dream but I recorded it anyway, kinda frustrated. I go back to sleep determined to remember that I am dreaming the moment I fall asleep and find myself in a dream. I drifted in and out of scenes, it felt like i was half asleep, and i still had the voice int he back of my head urging me to remember to know when i dream. (i kinda repeated it in my mind).

So then I finally find myself in my bedroom (like I am already in) and it looks vivid and real. I decide to do a reality check so I look at my hands and they are invisible. Excited, I see that I am dreaming. I try to get off of my bed, with an intention of what I'll do in this lucid dream, but I can't. I'm like paralyzed. I struggle to get out of my bed but I still can't and I think my vision gets unfocused too. I remember trying to even turn my head to the side with my hands. It was so hard! I even KNEW it was all in my head. I told myself I could do it, but nothing worked. I felt trapped. It got to the point where I was pulling the covers off and even trying to drag myself from the floor! Then there was a new scene where I am telling someone about my 'failed dream.' (This always happens, I keep forgetting to do RC when i tell someone my dreams).

SO yea I failed at controlling my dream. I can't understand what the problem was! Anyone know?

Haha I experience that once in a blue moon as well. In my dream it feels like I have been awake for years and I am just utterly and completely tired and cannot move for the life of me. For instance I could be sitting on a couch in a dream with some friends talking but I can't move because it feels like I am just completely exhausted and any movement takes an unreal amount of effort. Usually in this situation it is not a Lucid Dream so I don't really have any control of it I just remember what it feels like.

Well if it just happened that one time I don't think you have much to worry about. I think it happens every once in a while. But if it is happening everytime there may be something contributing to your problem.

Hopefullly. Its so frustrating when I'm finally lucid after 2 and a half weeks of trying (longer before that) but then its wasted. Something that ALWAYS happens in my lucid dreams tho is that there is a new scene and I instantly forget im still dreaming but im telling someone my dream like its the next day. Dang i need to remember to do reality checks when i do that for real.

For begginers I noticed that a change in dream scene usually ends the lucid dream. Maybe it's the millisecond blackout and then change of scene that "Resets" their train of thought restarting the whole LD process. Well I am sure you will get the hang of it ^_^ Good Luck!

ARRGGHH. I can't believe it, it happened again. I realized I was dreaming and I found myself in my room again, did hand RC and they were invisible again. This time I really thought I would be able to have full control. I heard a buzzing noise and got scared that there was a hideous bug in my room so I inched away in the covers. But I tried to get up so I can sneak out of my room (It didn't feel in my power to attempt to fly for some reason ). But then this is the part I don't get. While I am trying to leave my bed I suddenly feel very drowsy like I'm falling asleep IN my dream. I try to fight it but i'm just so sleepy. I finally wake up instantly and do RC but im not dreaming.

Any viewers know why I felt like I was 'falling asleep' in my dream??

Why don't you try doing a different RC? Like plugging your nose or something...

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe if you do the nose RC which requires movement, you will have broken the "bubble" or whatever.

What do you mean by doing a nose RC? I don't think the hand RC stumbled me. However is there another RC that involves movement because I find it annoying during the day to pinch my nose with my fingers from time to time...I do the hand RC and the checking writing text, also look around at my environment during the day because most of my dreamsigns involve context.

You could also walk to a light switch in your room and try to turn on the light. If you can't, you're dreaming. By that time, you'll already be out of bed. I became lucid from this RC a few times.
