Ways to wake up (without getting too awake)

Basically, I am looking for ways to wake up for the FILD technique.

I have had success with this technique, except for when I use an alarm (it wakes me up too much). It only works when I naturally wake up (which doesn't happen for me every night).

If anyone has any ways that work for them please share them.

      Thank you in advance.

Though i'd love to suggest some suggestions for this but the best thing i can suggest is to train yourself to wake naturally after every dream, it could work if you try and focus on doing it, i currently try it everynight and i may require some help with it but just keep trying, you will get there, i have a good one that may work though, its an adaptation on one i saw recently.

Basically what you do is get into bed and fall asleep without the quilt over you, have it so its folded in half and tuck in the end in which you would normally pull towards you into the back end of the bed, that way when you feel cold during the night and naturally try and pull them forward to make you warm you will have to put in some effort thus you being awake enough allowing you to try a WILD or FILD in your case, its worth a try, you just got to think before bed that when you pull your covers over you you will try to FILD or WILD or whatever technique your trying. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to try them.

By the way, does anyone have tips on how to train yourself to wake up after dreams, do you just have to focus on it, or are there any tricks/hints?

If you are having LD's thats simple just make yourself wake up or open your dream eyes really wide and your real eyes might open. If you are not lucid that is a bit more tricky I will have to read up on that one. Oh besides the water and sheet thing you can also make yourself hot by wearing a bit more or have more blankets on so you weak up thirsty or hot. Theres always the alarm clock.

I posted what I've been doing to wake up in the FILD tutorial... this is it:

This is an add-on to the waking up phase of the FILD method.

What've I've done is 1) taken a cotton glove and cutoff the fingers so its not too hot.
      2) put velcro on the back of my phone and the glove.
      3) I set my alarm for 4 hours after I go to bed. Then I put my glove on with the cell phone attached to it.
      4) the cell phone alarm is set to go off in a half hour and then snooze for 15-20 minutes thereafter.

This allows me to wake up and shut off my alarm, hopefully without exiting Sleep paralysis because I don't have to move to shut off my alarm. Unfortunatley, this hasn't worked yet for me, one of the reasons I think being that my alarm is too loud and jarring.
