      To go into sleep paralysis do your eyes have to be closed?

      Yeah, they should be closed. You should be trying to focus on your inner world, so open eyes aren't really helpful. Also sleep paralysis is the beginning of REM and REM means that your eyes will be moving like shit, so they should be closed and not under your conscious control anymore.
