i have a brand of contacts called "Night & Days" (you probably saw a commercial about them at one point). anyway, they're a brand of contact that have "extra breathability" so you can sleep with them in. well, i find when i just close my eyes and move my eyes around, it's somewhat painful, and i can definitely feel them in there. i wonder if this has any effect with REM? i'm not really sure if that's anything anyone has looked into, and i don't know if you being in a state of unconsciousness would eliminate that feeling, but i know that when i'm conscious and i have my eyes closed, moving them around is not a "pleasant feeling".
anybody else sleep with their contacts in and maybe wonder the same thing? i'd try taking them out, but there are 3 things stopping me: 1) i don't have any "up-to-date" glasses so i wouldn't be able to see anything without them in, 2) i've worn them so long and my eye is so use to them that when i pull them out, my eyes actually hurt, 3) i'm kinda... lazy...
if anyone could shine some light on this, or even just thoughts, that'd be cool
