Can someone explain this to me?

First off I'll say that I've been reading these forums for a while now and everyone seems so friendly, so why not join I thought.

So I was wondering what was up with this dream and if it qualifies as a lucid dream. I went to bed and had my B-6, turmeric, and green tea. I had a dream where me and some friends were walking home and then I went to bed again in my dream only to have a dream within a dream. But in this 2nd dream I could see myself sleeping while I was on the outskirts of a city that was all blocky. Out of nowhere I said, "I'm dreaming." Only nothing became clearer and I didn't feel anymore in control. I was paranoid and thought I may lose any lucidity I may of had so I rubbed and hands and span only It didn't really help. I woke up into my first dream and I was in my room and I thought "I wonder if this is one of those false awakening I've heard about." So I looked at my clock and it didn't make sense. The first digit was unreadable and the two zeros looked like they were made up of grains of sand and they faded away and I woke up for real.

I forgot to mention that when I was thinking that I was dreaming I starting thinking things like: "I can't believe it! I can't wait to tell someone" or "I met my October deadline!"

Long story short, I was wondering if I had actually became lucid, because I don't think it felt much different or looked any clearer, because my friend always describes becoming lucid as walking through a fuzzy screen and seeing everything crisp and clear.

      Thanks

      Hi and welcome.
Yes you were lucid. some lucid dreams are so real it's scarry, others are like walking around in the dark. It often depends on where in your sleep cycle the dream occurred, usually dreams not long after falling asleep are the least vivid or real and the ones just before you wake up the most vivid and real but there are exceptions to every rule.

You should get some good info and advise from others here that are "experts" in this field but from your description, I would say that the only time you were actually lucid was when you awoke from one dream and looked at the clock. When you dreamed about having a lucid dream, it was still just a dream.
Saying that, it was still a LD and gives you bragging rites to having one. Now your task is to improve on the experience and begin to control them.

      Regards, best wishes and welcome.
