i'm going to try this running out the door thing when i go to sleep. does it work if you do it as you are drifting off to sleep or does it have to be when you wake up for a bit?
Wow since you don't have to do that much getting up all that stuff I guess i'll try it within the next few days and tell you my results.
wait, im confused a bit here. I understand your basic concept here, but theres got to be a little im missing here. When you wake up early in the morning you go back to sleep as fast as possible right? You still have to keep your mind awake though right? Also why does the image of "you jumping over the fence" make you go lucid? Im saying why does this make you go lucid? How does this make you go lucid opposed to say you visualizing yourself chopping fire wood or something?
What im saying here is how does this method make you go lucid? Why do you go lucid just because your in a location that you reconize? These are just a few of my questions, looking forward to your response. Thanks
Its just easier to visualize somewhere familiar. If you were a lumberjack however, you might feel more comfortable chopping wood (and it would be nice because you get a whole bunch of tactile sensation in there with it)
feeling objects while visualizing for some reason makes you lucid faster. I cant explain why but it just does.

It isn't the familiar surroundings that make you lucid. Its actually the tactile sensations and other immersive things that will pull you into a lucid dream. The familiar environment is only to help you with the visualization and to make it easier. You see, visualization stems from memory. In fact, Visualization can be looked at as remembering things in an abstract way. The stronger those memories, the stronger the visualization, the more immersive the environment, BAM lucidity!
yes but just having a vivid dream will make you lucid? I have had many vivid dreams without going lucid, why would I go lucid just froma vivid dream...I still might not know im dreaming. Sorry I must be missing something here.....
Well, because you're doing this from the waking state, you know it's a dream already. DILD (going from a dream to lucid) requires you to be in a dream then become conscious. WILD (getting lucid from waking) requires you to be conscious then enter a dream. The vividness is what helps with the dream entering =)

But then again I'm not extremely surprised, as most tutorials on WILDing and falling asleep don't work for me.
It sounds like a pretty good technique though, I can see why it would work. :)
also isnt it good to do it in the morning so you have a better chance of remembering your dream? I wanna remember the lucid dream like it was yesterday if thats possible, I mean really remember it like I was on a trip etc.

WOOOT!!!! I listened to this mp3 while using wbtb and mild and then got my third and most realistic lucid dream yet (first one in a few months too). The dream was kinda strange though because there were no dreamsigns in it. I was changing water in my fishtank and suddenly everything just became lucid and I realized that I was dreaming after things became lucid. The lucid lasted for a while too but strangely I couldnt use any lucid powers at all and when I tried yelling INCREASE LUCIDITY, I woke up...

1. How can you wake up during the night remembering because i fall asleep and wake up at 8am so how can i teach myself to remain awake during a brief awakening because i never remember waking up in the night.
im usually first one to wake in my house but when i wake up im still really tired and can fall asleep easily but dont wanna sleep so end up gettin up and walking around lol im new to this site!! so i'll try this today
Well I tried this and although I didn't become lucid, it helped me fall asleep after a brief awakening VERY quickly, which is usually impossible for me or takes at least an hour. I'm gonna keep trying, and experiment with where I imagine myself, since you said it seems to be very critical.
I would hate to live in an apartment or condo!
i tried this this morning and I experienced SP for the first time:
I woke up really early and decided to try this technique so i imaginged myself walking into my house and getting a drink of water. Distantly i could feel my right hand tingling but i didnt think too much about it. Then suddenly i heard a roaring type sound and my whole body felt like it was vibrating strongly and buzzing. I realised calmly that this was actually SP, it was undeniable. Surprisingly i wasnt afraid at all and just went with the flow. I kept on imagining my scene not really knowing if I should do anything else to help me get into a lucid. Unfortunantly my mind fell asleep shortly afterwards :(
My question is is it normal for you to feel SP when you do this?? And also if this happens again is there anything I should do to help me get into a lucid?

The suddenly i heard this loud roaring noise and it felt as if my body was vibrating strongly. I realised that this was actually the real deal and surprisingly i was completely calm. I didnt know what to do then, i didnt know if i should do something else to help me get lucid- all i did was keep imagining my scene. The sensations continued for a short while until unfortunately my mind fell asleep :(
My question is, is it normal for me to experience SP while trying this method because i havnt seen anyone mention it. And also, was there anything i should've done to help me get into an LD while in the SP state?
