      I H8 Reality's VILD Technique

I first want to say that this works for me 100% of the time and I dont know if it will work for anyone else.

It usually happens in the morning so you need like at least 6hrs of sleep.

You have to wake up during a brief awakening.

While im in bed i just imagine jumping over my neighbours fence and running in through the alley way to the front yard. Once i make it to the front yard im already lucid.

Ive tried other scenes to start my lucid dream but they dont work. I think that your backyard/frontyard are ingrained in your subonicous so its really easy to imagine them with minimum effort.

So my front yard ends up being my lucid loading dock, or centre of my lucid universe.

I did this same thing once. Imagined myself running out my frontdoor, out my front yard and down the street. I remember seeing a bunch of ghost-like dogs running on the side walk lol. The LD only lasted a few seconds

So you pick a very familiar scene in a early morning wake-up and just make a mad dash out the door and run down the street and you are ready to Lucid?
Sounds like it takes a few seconds.
      Is there more to it?

well you see Ive lived in my house for 12 years so I know my house like the back of my hand.

Ive used other scenes that im familar with but they dont work, the reason your house is a good thing to visualize is its in your mind subconiously so your mind can automatically imagine it.

If i where to tell you to imagine a beach you would have to concsiously imagine it which is a problem. You have to almost let your mind do the imagining for you.

When i have my early morning brief awakening, i just lay there and imagine jumping over my neighbours fence. when i jump over the fence I imagine the sensation of touching and falling from the fence Once i land i run through an alley way our houses share and make it to the front yard and by the time im there im Lucid.

It happens so fast that you become lucid in only 10-30 seconds of imagining

Ok, will try this. What happens if you aren't Lucid by then, for example..
Do you replay it over and over, or keep running aroung the block or something?
Also are you just aware of waking and still groggy when you start to do this?

I tried this last night and the night before and couldn't get it to work. Maybe I'm concentrating too hard? Do you guys keep thinking about what your are doing, like running down the stairs or whatever until you are in the dream? I really hope this method works for me since I wake up 3-4 times a night.

I'm sick of how people are trying to sell their techniques! Sounds like an advertisement! "100% guarantee! 100% of the time!" Congratulations, you've found a technique that works for you. Now don't try selling it off as if they work for the majority!

      Sorry...

This is a very effective method i believe... I acctually had an LD a couple days ago in which I met my dream guide... This LD started in my front yard following the "wave" I became lucid almost immediately. I'm going to try taking a nap see if it works again.

      Greetings,
I thought this was a very interesting techniique so I thought I'd give it a try. Went to bed and woke up a couple of hours later. I too remembered this post and thought I'd give it a try. Found myself dreaming about another technique, based on mathematics developed by the wife of some guy in my dream. Seemed perfectly logical at the time and was getting ready to try it when I got awoken by my wife kissing the back of my neck and I got....well....distracted. There's always tomorrow!!

Yeah, we should totally keep any technique that works really well for us to ourselves.
After all, it's not like we want to help other attain lucid dreams.
I mean, what does he think this is, a forum based on attaining lucidity?

BTW the very first thing he said..."I first want to say that this works for me 100% of the time and I dont know if it will work for anyone else."

Anyways, this sounds like a good idea. My first LD was a long time ago when I was back in elementary. I visualised the place, and bam - I was lucid. It probably worked because I knew it so well. I'm going to try this pretty soon, thanks.

My second attempt of this technique also failed, sadly. I think the problem was that I moved around too much before going back to sleep though. Will continue trying (since it's such an easy technique, I might as well).

I'm gonna try this. I tend to wake up in the middle of the night so tonight I'll just roll over and try this. If it doesn't work and I get too awake, I'll try a VILD. Hope it works.

You know something...i've had some experiences like ths too...is this called VILD? I can't remember for the life of me...But yes, seeming to visualize a scene as best you can...and keeping that in your head as you fall asleep, almost incubatingth dream, seemsto ease the transition (as lng as it's done after 5-6 hours, like you said) and allow you to go right into a lucid dream...with some luck.

for some reason whether it is that i am too tired or i am not getting enough sleeping time, i dont seem to naturally wake up consistantly on nights that i have school the next day.

Does/has anyone have any success with this method when using an alarm?
