Even though I'm a natural lucid dreamer and I can remember at least something from most of my dreams, I have times when I'm having problems with both. After taking some naps today, I realised a way to at least enhance lucidity and dream recall. Please note that this works for me, but I have no idea if it works for anyone else.
I've realised that the lighter I sleep, the more I'll remember from my dreams, and I also have more vivid and controllable lucid dreams. When I sleep in a dark, silent room, I will have a much deeper sleep, and I might not remember much at all, or have "low level lucidity". During the weekends, I sometimes sleep with both a little light on, and my computer on, simply to allow some of my American online friends to wake me up through Xfire so that I can play online games with them. The dim light and the sound of my computer fan makes me sleep much lighter, and this is when I have the most vivid dreams, best dream recall, more lucid dreams, and better lucid dream control. However, I need at least one extra hour of sleep because the quality of sleep is then not that great.
I don't know of anyone who has used similar techniques before, but it turns out that it works for me. I'm guessing it would work better for those who have had lucid dreams before, if it works at all. I just wanted to share. Input is welcome.
