Dream sign: Waking up in a mysterious place

A few times lately, I have dreamed that I woke up in a place I was not familiar with at all. Every time, I have just sat there in the dream place and racked my brain trying to figure out where I was, what day it was, how I got there, and what could possibly be happening. It is the most baffled state of mind I have had this year, and I keep having it. I also woke up in my real bed right after each false awakening and was totally pissed that I had a false awakening and did not catch it. So from now on, when I wake up in a myserious place, the first thing I am going to do is consider that I might be having a false awakening. I will do a reality check right away every time.

False awakenings are extremely powerful. They will have you convinced with complete certainty that you are in the waking world. Don't let that illusion fool you. Do a reality check in that situation any way, no matter what. I think that practice is a good method for increasing lucid dream frequency. I am definitely going to use it, and I think I have a new powerful tool.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

That happens to me all the time (waking up in a strange place). Another kind of related thing that happens is I really want to go to bed, but I'm in a strange place and I want to go to bed and I can't figure out where I'm supposed to sleep.

For the first problem, I guess doing an RC every time you wake up would be best; that would cover all kinds of FA's. I'd like to get in the habit; I still forget to do it a lot of times.

Also, I guess confusion in general is a good DS, for me anyway.

I wish i had more FAs so i could take advantage of this, as i do a reality check pretty much every time i wake up.

Though i never "wake up" in a strange place, just my bed.
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
