      Breathing while half-asleep

Sometimes lately, while i'm laying in bed, I wont' be paying attention to my breathing, but for about 2 - 3 seconds, I'll suddenly notice a very different vivid feeling and noise when I breathe and then be back to normal, more awake. Its hard to describe, but its totally different than normal, even though I'm breathing normal.

Would this be due to my body getting ready to pass into sleep, but me retaining consciousness, and could I use it to become Lucid?

This technique is called a "Wake-Induced-Lucid-Dream" or WILD.

Your body falls asleep, whilst your mind stays conscious. Whilst I don't know about your personal "breathing" experience...sounds like you should give one of these a go....

Have a look at this: (particularly the WILD section)

      How To Lucid Dream

      goodluck

btw: WILD is usually an advanced method...but its a very simple process, so let nothing put you off!

Oh, so is that what I was going through? because this usually happened as I was going to bed. From what I hear, the WILD technique requires sleep beforehand.

whilst its MUCH, MUCH easier to do after some sleep...some people can do it whilst going to sleep for the first time in a night. Maybe you are one of the few?

Unless, I am wrong...inwhich case I await correction

Well, the times I've tried the WILD technique the suggested way, its never worked. But if Its possible to do before falling asleep, I may give it a go and see what happens.

yeah, you really have to "tune" all the parts of a WILD till it works for you...which is why its considered advance. However...you are likely to have to lay still for up to an hour if you do it without sleep. Id advise trying to adjust a regular WILD, before trying it without sleep.

But its up to you, just dont blame me

When you WILD you have your real body and then your dream body. It seems that your describing switching between the two.

It feels different to breath / hear between the dream body and real body.

This actually makes sense because when you realize you feel weird you are jolting your conscienceness and breaking the lucid state. So you are ultra close to having a very good method of getting lucid dreams if you avoid that jolt.
