      first dild

well, this is a sort of success but mostly not. I had a dream this morning that I remember nothing about. except that something in it made me stop and think "hey, this not right, I must be dreaming" and I jokingly did the nose RC. when it worked I felt a great elation that I knew I was dreaming but then I only remember waking up still under sleep paralysis....

so...I realized I was dreaming in a dream for the first time...but no memory of why or chance to do anything!!

tkdyo, congratulations on your first DILD.

It may have been short and hard to recall but it's a start!

ah...my first DILD was like that too. I woke from it as soon as I realized I was dreaming and got excited about that fact. It's cool you had one, though. Once you start staying asleep after attaining lucidity in any kind of lucid dream, lasting LDs might be easier to come by. I think having had the experience of spontaneous WILD (about a year after that first DILD) paved the way for me to have stable DILDs as I started reading LaBerge's book. It proved to me that you can know you're dreaming and still stay asleep.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

Congrats! My first DILD (and only ) was sort of similiar. I remembered most of the dream, but it was over very quickly and I had no control over what I did, haha.

That's awesome man, I was getting discouraged too, but yesterday I had my best LD so far. It was short, and I didn't hardly do anything, but it was so real. Just about as real as real life.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

No, nothing since then. I'm not losing confidence though. It's only been two days, before that, it was a month, so I know it's just a matter of time. Besides, I got some Galantamind coming in the mail sometime next week. I also made a new preset for my brainwave engine that I think I'll have some luck with. I'm trying it tonight.

Man, since I found out about this stuff, I can't wait to go to sleep at night. Even though my LD's are still few and far between, that last one was such a great feeling, I can't wait to do it again.
