      Class funtime :D

So today I finished my exam, and couldnt leave the room until everybody turned theirs in because of some gay anti-cheating rampage, Anyways.. I pulled out my ipod and sat comfortably and closed my eyes.

I tried to WILD because i had nothing better to do. So..

A little before i had a energy drink because my test was early in the morning and i wanted to waken up a bit. So i didnt expect myself to fall asleep because of that, but i tried anyways.

After listening to the ipod for a bit, i started to feel my body twitch and relax. I hadnt moved for about 4 songs, so 4 x approximately 5 mins? 20 mins + - ?.. I assume that sleep paralysis was onsetting. Soon i felt my hands and feet go completely numb. I knew that i was closer to SP. I didnt get any strong vibrations, but i started to feel like i was falling off my chair at certain instances. But i knew i was awake and i knew it was SP, so i didnt slip into a dream unfortunately.

Ive never seen HI, but i think i did it today.
After some of that falling feeling, coming and going. I started to see purple explosions. Then like purple black hole. I see just purple color, and it would swirl in and kind of swirl the blackness into it. It often disappeared and reappeared in different spots in my vision. It was pretty cool.

I think that at one point, i saw images? Like a desk or a pencil.. or a beach? But it happened so fast i dont think i was about to expand it into a scene.
Also alot of the time, while my eyes were relaxed, i would notice them naturally slipping open every once in a while. I would start to see VERY LITTLE though, from the bottom, and promptly shut them again.

I didnt purposely try to open my eyes.. they just did by themselves.

Eventually one of my friends threw something at me and i wanted to see what it was, so i opened my eyes. And my vision was very distorted. I was seeing colors weirdly, so i did a reality check but i was awake. Then i moved and ruined the SP.

Does anybody know how close i was to dreaming?

I think this would have worked because this nap/WILD session took from 10:00am to about 11:30am. I was awake the whole time.
and i woke up for the exam at 8:30, so i think the REM cycles would still be long if i were to sleep again.

      But i couldnt fall asleep.

THis is the second time i get SP, and both the first time and this time, it was with the aid of a energy drink. WIthout any caffeine, i usually fall asleep before i get to SP

the only answer i can give you is i dont know. SP for me sets on very suddenly. There isnt much of a time line to go by. You were seeing HI, and you sounded pretty relaxed. so those are some good signs, but you could have been 1 sec away, or 20 min. away and had the same signs.

Did you lose your train of thought much? or did the stuff on your ipod sound distorted at all? those might have meant you were closer.

I think I had HI in class once. My teacher was lecturing about something and I was drifting in and out of consciusness. All of the sudden I see my teacher riding backwards on a horse going away from me, still giving the lecture. It was awsome!

Maybe because the chairs in school are so uncomfortable that you cant actually get into a deep sleep, so you remain in a sort of limbo. Constantly gaining and losing conscious could make you get close to dreams but keep you aware (basically WILD). Just a thought.

I was relaxed, but to a certain extent. Like Funnel said, the chairs are uncomfortable. I didnt lose my train of thought, actually i was very mentally awake. I was thinking about what the dream scene would look like etc, trying to induce HI further. The ipod stuff sounded perfectly ok. At one point i wanted to move to turn the volume down very low, because every time a song ended, there was momentary silence, which sounded very pleasing. But i didnt want to move and break SP.

I didnt loose consciousness at all i think, because the ipod kept me awake and i was KIND of singing along in my head.

I think you definitely were seeing HI. I just recently discovered what it was myself though. I don't think you were in SP. You were just really relaxed and didn't feel like moving. SP (from what I've read, not from experience), is more like physically not being able to move even if you wanted to. Think of all the stories about people seeing demons standing above them and trying to move and not being able.

So, my opinion is there was HI, but not SP.

You know there is a problem with the educational system when people are using it to practice wild

How can i get HI without SP?
Is it possible or do you need SP to get HI?

I dunno. Lately when I look for them, I see patterns of light and shadow swirling in front of my eyes, sometimes forming images like a mailbox, or a desk or a face, but if I want to move, I'm perfectly able to. I think that goes against the definition of SP.

Ive never not been able to move. I could always force my self to move if i wanted to.

Like i would get vibrations and lose feeling sensations in my limbs, but i can still move it if i want.

      Would that be SP

That's my problem too man. That's why I think I've never felt SP yet.
