      Arrow Still no dreamsigns... tips?

      Hey everyone,

I'm new to this site and am seeking some guidance and tips to make my journey to lucidity a little easier.

I've been doing some research online, and have started journaling. Unfortunately, I am still confusing my dreams with actual reality while I'm in them. Upon looking over my past dreams, I am having a very difficult time finding some sort of symbol that links them all together - some kind of dream sign.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

May the universe be with you!

Are you keeping your dreams online? I've found that having others read your journal lets fresh eyes really notice a bunch of underlying themes that the dreamer can have trouble finding for themselves. If you post your dreams in an online DJ, I'll try to take a peek and see if I can find any dreamsigns for you.

How long have you been keeping your journal for? Are you writing down the dreams you have in the middle of the night, or just the one you wake up from in the morning? If you assume you're getting 4-7 dreams per night, but only going with the one you woke up from, that's about 7 dreams a week instead of 49 dreams. Not keeping your DJ frequently enough can cause you to miss out on some common dreamsigns.

Personally, I find that combining dreamsigns with other DILD techniques is the best way to become lucid. Try to branch out from just the dreamsign perspective, if you think that will help.

Also, keep in mind that dreamsigns include emotions, locations, expressions, sounds, situations, characters, etc.

And dreamsigns aren't present in every dream. People you see often, emotions you normally feel, places you normally end up, those are all dreamsigns.

Yeah, at first i was having trouble with my dream signs too. Keep writing down your dreams as thoroughly as you can in your Dream Journal.. And after awhile you should see some small connections that reoccur in your dreams, an example for me is that there's always some sort of threat of me being killed but this isnt always present but its in the majority of my dreams.

      Good luck

Hey, I know how you feel.

I don't really have any significant dream signs either, everything is pretty much random day to day. So since I have no permanent signs, I'm just being aware of myself way more often, when I reality check I always think should I be where I am? Do I remember getting here? Is anything around me suspicious? Then I perform a reality check, by trying to push my finger through my palm.

I dont know if this will work, but hopefully it'll carry over into my dreams. Hope I've shead some type of light on your problem.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
