      Almost a WILD!

Last night I was quite tired. So I thought, "I'm not even going to try to induce a lucid. Maybe I'll do FILD if I get the chance." So I'm sitting there, my clock reading 9:35. I do what I always do when going to sleep. To help clear my mind, I always think about things and then stop thinking about them when I exhale. (Difficult to explain, but it works quite effectively for me). Next, I decided to do a permutation of the 61-point relaxation technique. I decided to mentally numb each of my fingers and toes one at a time, and then numb the rest of my body, moving in small disk-like increments (this works well too). Then, my eyes start acting like I'm in REM and they start moving rapidly, opening and closing at a furious rate that I can't control. This gradually ended, so I thought my WILD was over. Turned out I was wrong when I did some RCs.

      My main point is:
      1. It was an amazing (if not obscure) experience.
      2. If I could do this without any sleep, imagine how well it would work combined with a WBTB.
This is the date of my first lucid: 3/6/2010
It took WAY TOO LONG - but was completely worth it.

very sick! I had this happen to me. Also I forgot to mention to you that what I PM you, if your the type of person tn wake up random at night, that it works too after you wake up too. Also super look at complex's method of phasing- it sounds amazing if you can get it to work- its on first page. Anyways nice but I still think you should try my method

I often wake up randomly in the night. As for your method, 3-4 hours does not work for me at all. I'll try to change the timing to suit myself, but I don't want to compromise effectiveness.

What? How do you figure that? It even says that REM-like sensations can occur during WILD.

if your awake enough to feel your eyes, i dont think feeling your eyes move is a good sign. but i could be wrong, i was wrong before, and i could be wrong now. Specially cause i havent payed attention to eyes lately. I guess it could happen,
but out of my own experience (which is not alot) ive never had that happen to me before.

I've felt vibrations in my eyes before when trying to WILD. Never successfully though. I also often feel them when I randomly wake in the night and try for a DEILD.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald
