      WILD Help

Welcome to another WILD help topic!

I have tried to WILD several times. Just last night I woke up about 5 hours after going to sleep. I stayed up for about 10 minutes as I wrote down some dreams and got a glass of water, among other things. I lie down and try to relax and remain conscious. I am doing just fine except for one issue – nothing ever happens!

I was lying there for nearly two hours. I never got HI, SP, vibrations, etc. Yes, I became somewhat numb from the lack of movement, but I could do that during the day if I want. Nothing different happened and I felt that I did it perfectly. I even prevented myself from consciously swallowing (which usually disrupts the process). I just let it happen by itself. I didn’t even get tricked into moving when my body tried to tell me it was uncomfortable. I did everything and yet for two hours nothing happened nor seemed like it was going to.

I stopped trying because the daylight was already creeping in and I wanted at least one more hour of sleep. I did manage a lucid, though brief, but I would rather learn to WILD.

      Any advice?

Should I remain awake for less time prior to attempting it (which will probably make me fall asleep instead of remain conscious)?

Just a few notes: I am not a lucid dream novice. I have had over 60 but never through a proper WILD. I have woken up and willed myself back into a dream, consciously transferring into it, which I suppose would be a WILD.

I have also experienced SP, HI, and vibrations, so I know what I am looking for. I just can’t experience them by WILDing. They are usually accidents when I wake up in the middle of REM or on the verge of it.

I posted this in another WILD help topic, but I think the problem is maybe waking you're waking up in the wrong time in your sleep cycle. You said you have experienced Virbrations and paralysis, so there is no problem there. Try experimenting with different times. I get long dreams after 3 hours of sleep, try starting there

O yeah you might want to try staying awake for maybe 15 minutes so you don't fall asleep

I suppose I can try waking up after about three hours and move up from there. I try to shoot for around 4-5 because one has more REM stages during the later hours of sleep. I have also had plenty of lucid dreams after only three hours, so I guess I won't know if I can WILD with only three hours until I try.

I generally don't have a problem with accidentally falling asleep during my WILD attempt, of course, that depends on how tired I am.
