Why SP is different for me than anything I have read about it

      I can move, I just don't.

That it what it feels like for me to be in SP. I've thought about this a lot. I had it normal twice. Loud and shaky and what not. After that, I never even felt paralyzed again.

For me, I just lie there, let my mind wander, listen to music, play out scenarios, do whatever I feel like basically, just not move. I feel more and more relaxed as time passes, then, BAM! Instant relaxed. I feel heavy, in a super-comfortable way, and there was no warning, and nothing special is happening. I never used to notice when this happened, as it is subtle. It's not so much as I noticed when it happens, I just notice it. Then I continue to let my mind wander. Eventually I notice that I am moving, or reading, or can now feel my limbs differently, and conclude rightly that I must be dreaming. It usually fades. Then comes back. Then fades. Then eventually I'm dreaming, lucid, or not. It is still fun and relaxing.

For the longest time I wondered if I was doing something wrong, why I couldn't WILD. Then I realized I was getting into SP, and that even if it wasn't SP, it doesn't matter because I could still move my dream body without moving my real body. After that, I had success.

I hope this helps anyone who might be having any similar doubts. I'll try to answer any questions if there are any.

What you described sounded more like a hypnotic trance (extremely relaxed, comfortable). SP is actually chemically induced and does prevent you from moving, it takes a few seconds to flush it out of your system if you suddenly want to get out of it.

Yes, SP is actually something chemical. If you could move then it was not SP.

I also have this really mild SP, where it feels like I can move(and I even have moved once or twice)but it still led to an ld. Just because the SP isn't strong, doesn't mean it isn't a wild.

Do you guys know of any way to make my SP stronger, or more pronounced when it first happens?

And it's not that I can move. Only that it feels like I can move, but I know I can't somehow, like if I tried hard enough, I could.

I've been thinking about this a lot more and I'm going to have to say I agree with Spartiate, sort of, but I think he was close enough for government work. Either way, I still occasionally enter dreams from this state, seemingly skipping SP, so I don't mind.
